What a place. Imagine the trouble the Romans took to build this domed building 2000 years ago! The dome is huge and it must have been quite a sight to see even back then!
It is quite beautiful and if you do bear in mind the fact that they didn't have cranes and such it is quite a feat of engineering. It also kind of looks bigger from the inside than out, and there is a strange opening at the top of the dome, as if they decided that they couldn't fill the hole!
The square around this is beautiful too and the cafes serve nice food although it is at a premium cost. However, if you are a keen people watcher then it is the perfect spot.
Well worth a visit.
