Portrait of Paphos Review with images

AdvantagesCharming combination of the old and the new give this resort something for everyone.

DisadvantagesHeat oppressive at height of summer. Some areas rather loud and built up

"...~*~ Flights from the UK to Paphos International Airport take around 4½ to 5 hours. Direct flights to Paphos are widely available with charter flights from both regional and national airports. Tour operators such as Thomson, First Choice and Monarch fly regularly to Paphos. There are also scheduled flights to Paphos via British Airways and Cyprus Airways. Costs are in the region of £200 to £300 dependent on seasonal fluctuations and availability. ..." Read review

A Holiday Town among the Ruins and Tombs Review with images

AdvantagesPretty Harbour, friendly and lots of history

DisadvantagesSprawling, time share touts and expensive

"...in the small town of Paphos until the 1980's and I didn't arrive until December 2007. It was Christmas and I wanted to see my son who was based in Athens at the time. As I didn't really fancy spending Xmas in a bustling, over-crowded and polluted city like Athens, I chose to visit Cyprus and meet up with him there. I remember walking to the coach which was waiting outside the airport to take us on to Pathos and thinking this place looks a bit run ..." Read review

Perfect Paphos Review with images

AdvantagesFriendly people, cheap food, great atmosphere, hot!

Disadvantagesperhaps too touristy, and will become more so in time

"...have a lot of choice. Paphos Airport is relatively small, with currently only two runways (I am told that they are probably going to build a third). This means there is not an abundance of available flights, and it is hard to find ones at perfect times. We had only booked the apartment for 5 days, so we wanted to get flights that would give us the most time there. We decided to look for a flight that we could get late Wednesday so we would arrive ..." Read review

Paphos for all season Holidays. Review with images

AdvantagesIt is very friendly, drive on the Left hand side, and mostly speak English

DisadvantagesYou can't lay on the beaches in the winter, and the evenings are cold.

"...is my seventh visit to Paphos over 3 years. This time it was very different. Being my first visit since Cyprus changed over to Euros in Jan 2008, I was amazed to notice the changes that had already been made. The Harbour had changed almost beyond recognition. For those of you who have already visited this area, you are in for a shock of delight. The harbour sea front has now gone pedestrian. Gone the noisy buses, the taxis parked all along ..." My First Holiday Orgasm

AdvantagesSunshine, good quality hotels, reasonably priced food and a family atmosphere

DisadvantagesBeaches aren't very good, some of the town awaiting redevelopment

"...per day etc) So this was Paphos in Cyprus. First thoughts? Not too impressed. Our hotel wasn't in a prime position to say the least. From the balcony I could gaze at houses, unfinished buildings and what can only be described as scrubland - no doubt also waiting to be developed. In fairness the hotel (Paphiessa) was adequate - nice and clean and well decorated. Like a lot of things though, position is important. But was I down hearted? No ..." Read review
