This August will be my fourth visit to Paphos – yes you’re right. I love Paphos.
For anyone thinking of going this year or whenever may I suggest a couple of hotels/restaurants. The King Jason Apartments is excellent. They are very clean, have a large swimming pool/kids pool and a gym/sauna/whirlpool. The staff are extremely friendly. It’s an excellent place for all types but especially families. It is a short distance from the harbour and shops say a ten-minute walk at the most. I’ve stayed at this aparthotel twice. Last year I stayed at the Chrystallo. This is a small friendly family run apartments. Rooms were very clean and staff very helpful. It’s only drawbacks were the pool was a bit too small and if you ordered anything to eat it was about 15-20 minute wait. If you are simply looking for a place to lay your head rather than spend all day there it is an excellent choice.
Restaurants that are very good are: Michael’s which is off the left as you enter the main strip. The restaurant is family owned, they grow all their own vegetables etc and produce their own wine. The food is excellent and is cosmopolitan. They do a little ‘turn’ every night – dancing with glasses on heads. It really is fun and everyone joins in. Cost per head including drinks etc for a 3 course meal is about £20. Opposite Michael’s is Eva Gabor. The owner there is a magician and puts on a little show every night. Great fun and the food again is excellent although I think Michael’s is that bit better but still a great fun place to eat. If you fancy a curry – next door to Michael’s (I can’t remember the name right now) is as good as you get at home if not better. It is run by a lady called Stella. It’s family owned. They are English but of Cypriot origin. We love our curries so I can definitely recommend it if you fancy something other than the normal food.
Best trip is the Jeep Safari to the Akamos. The best day out we have had. Loads of fun, food wasn’t bad and a great laugh and lots of thrills. Enjoy.
I too have been to most of the restaurnats you mentioned in your op and you were spot on about them!!! Paphos IS fantastic, I love it too!!! Have you ever visited the 'Green Corner' bar on the Tomb of the Kings Road?? Please take a moment to read my own op on Paphos, 'I Left My Heart in Paphos' and let me know what you think in terms of do I give the place the justice it deserves.

Advantages: It is very friendly, drive on the Left hand side, and mostly speak English Disadvantages: You can't lay on the beaches in the winter, and the evenings are cold.
