Before I begin, this hotel is now a four star hotel as can been on their website and on the entrance to the hotel, if you go! It also has more rooms I believe than stated on here.
I have visited this hotel, Paradise Bay Resort Hotel, 3 times within 2 years recently, and every visit has been memorable with the Hotel because of the fine choice of quality food you get every evening, three pools to choose from, easy access to public transport (And Cheap!) plus many more things.
The service provided by all staff, is excellent, the staff are always happy to help with smiles :) which is always nice to see. The receptionists are always there 24/7 for any queries, and for example, my family wanted information on where to go quad biking, the receptionist advised of a place and let us use the phone to enquire about before trekking to the place for prices etc.
The room I had (upgraded) was brilliant, it has got to be one of the best out there! It was very spacious with a good sized bathroom which included a bath tub as well as a shower, so you can choose which ever one you prefer. All rooms are sea view which is why this hotel is quite desirable, because you get to view the sea where ever you are in the hotel.
The location is great, I think, despite being the one of two used buildings in a small area, it is well connected. By this I mean that the hotel is on its own stretch of road away from the other hotels in Mellieha and it is well connected, as there are frequent buses that head to quite a number of places on the island including the Capital. But the ferry to take a day trip over to Gozo is only a 10-15 minute walk down to the quay.
I think the food is great too. There food is served in a buffet style with the evening meal containing a starter selection, main course selection, dessert selection, side plate selection and a kids food section. All the food is labelled by name as to what it is and there meals are of high quality and there is a range of food for everyone. The breakfast is also served in buffet style with a range of food available here too. There is always a different selection of breads available, hot food, cereals and cakes with yoghurt to pore over the top. There is also a tea, coffee, hot chocolate and hot water maker where you can select which drink you would like plus there is also a orange juice and lemon juice machine, or there is milk you can have.
The hotel also boasts its own shop where you can find everything and anything, including a hair dressers for when you need a hair cut if you find it too hot or fancy something different, or for when you attend for special occasions. Plus the hotel has its own private beach for guests only which is of decent size with plenty of swimming space in the ocean of course... There is also an on-site scuba diving school which you can take part in.
There have been recent renovations with the newly built sauna which is very desirable by many of the guests.
The indoor pool also boasts a jacuzzi for visits in the winter which is always nice to get into or the summer when you want to relax with some nice bubbling water.
Plus, you can take a nice walk in the evening after the evening meal down the quay, sit on a bench along the way and just relax which is always nice to do.
I loved every minute at this hotel and would love to go back soon.
It is also a family run hotel, which makes it even more special because they are taking pride in it and will not let it fall under. A family run business of any kind will always do better because its something to pass on to other family members.
This hotels experienced coupled with the heritage of Malta is just perfect in every way. Its just pure pleasure.

If I remember correctly, Paradis Bay is a ways out from Mellieha, with loads of steps down to a small strip of sandy beach. Nice review - and nice to hear the Public Transport is as dependable as ever. Excellent review!
