Our room was large and spacious without being intimidatiing with a large window overlooking the surrounding Bath countryside. There were a few posters on the walls which we didnt care for but peoples tastes vary so much anyway.

We had tried to book one of the posh hotels in Bath but alas all were full or so prohibitively expensive that we couldnt afford them, so we opted for a guest house instead. However, Paradise House is no ordinary Guest house as we soon discovered.

We found finding the hotel a little tricky as it is not well sign posted, however on arrival we knew we were onto a winner. The place is spottless with lots of those little personal details that make the difference.

The breakfast was excellent, served in the downstairs dining room with gentle classical music in the background. The portions were ample and well presented and again the staff were impecable.
The guest house has lovely grounds at the rear where you can idle and envy the views or walk off a little of your breakfast (as we did) and take some nice photos.
The trip into town takes about 10 minutes by foot but is a little harrowing for people of a less able constitution as it involves a steep descent.
As a guest house this place is the tops and I know we usually prefer a hotel but in this instance the service along with the pleasant ambience in the place made our stay very pleasant indeed.
It is a little more expensive than ordinary guest houses at £90 for a double B&B but then there is also George! A roving pussycat that enters guests bedrooms at will, luckily we are both animal lovers and George made up for the absence of our own pets on holiday.
We stayed several years ago in the guest house but remember it with fond memories and I hope that the management have not changed the formula too much as in my opinion they had a winning formula at that time.
Lovely memories of an idyllic weekend in Bath, thank-you!
