If you want horse riding in the countryside there is a small ranch nearby which provides this free to guests at the Paradisus.
There are lots of trips you can do either through your tour rep or at the reception point. I'd recommend going through your rep as you have some guarantees ... Read review

(+) All round good pick for those wanting Caribbean on a budget. Great beach! (-) Probably not quite up to 5* standards like some other hotels, but we didn't mind!
A Great Holiday Review ofParadisus Rio de Oro, Holguinby

Advantages: All Inclusive, Good Food, Lots to Drink Disadvantages: More expensive than other hotels in the area
...short distance away. The paradisus also has three secluded beaches/coves which are also accessible to guests as well as a Spa which has recently been opened. The spa costs $25 per day and treatments will cost extra. A joint massage/facial for 2 plus a day spa (use of pool, beach, jacuzzi, sauna will cost $214 for both of you. We can highly recommend this for a nice relaxing day.
You can also take a horse and buggy ride to the local market at Guardalavaca, ... ...you get to see the local scenary and people at a relaxed pace. For $20 you also get the long tour. I'd recommend asking for Joel (has the white buggy) as he speaks exceptional english. There is a commerical centre near the market which has a better selection of cigars for you (thats if you do not choose the cigar factory trip).
I would not recommend the scooters as you DO NOT have insurance. If anything happens, your travel insurance will not cover ...

5* all the way Review ofParadisus Rio de Oro, Holguinby
bouncybabe
Advantages: fantastic room, pool, beach and especially the food Disadvantages: it rained almost every day we were there
ROOM
We had a standard Junior Suite, which was more than adequate for our needs including 2 x queen beds, chaise longue, sky TV, balcony, dressing area and bathroom with powerful shower. All Junior Suites appeared to be very similar, with 16 to each block, positioned in the middle of the resort.
FOOD
There is the buffet restaurant, 4 a la cartes, beach bar and poolside bar. They all did wonderful food but our favourite was the Japanese, closely ... ...a must-have!)
POOL
The pool is split into two sections, separated by a waterfall. The water is plesant and not full of chlorine like many pools! The deepest part is about 1.6m, and the shallowest about 60cm, but there is no problem swimming and it was rarely busy.
POOLSIDE There are plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas, gazeebos and hammocks. There are two jaccuzis, which are quite cold, but we sat in them and were served champagne like a king and queen!

Advantages: Everything included in price, watersports, romantic, awesome food, very friendly staff Disadvantages: No First Aid after 5pm!
We were at Rio De Oro for our honeymoon, and received the free room upgrade which was wonderful. One of the reasons we went to this resort was because of the watersports. The windsurfing was great for beginners to intermediates as there are no boards for those who are advanced. There are 2 Lasers which are a lot of fun, and the Catamaran's are of course cool though unfortunately (or maybe fortunately if you are a beginner!) you are not allowed to ... ...We loved the 24 hour free room service (limited vareity but FREE!!!), VERY friendly staff, awesome buffets (make sure you try the sirloin steak - to die for!), and the scooters! Unfortunately the scooters are not free but well worth taking out for a couple of hours to see the Cuban countryside and wave at all the friendly people!
We did hear of couples who didn't get the upgrade but all the rooms were really nice so they didnt see it as the end ...

Well basically I bought this and think it is a total waste of money. I paid £99 for this item and thought it would be worth it, and would save a lot in the long run as I wouldn't need any other hair removal products.
The instructions were easy enough... more
ME:
I have naturally dark hair and the regrowth is quite coarse on my legs and underarms. I have found waxing at home unsuccessful and shaving creates a horrible stubble rash on my legs. I have been using a Philips Satin Ice Epilator for about 8 years... more
