I went to the Parc Asterix about 2 years ago, about a year after going to DysneyLand Paris so I can compare the two pretty easily. Parc Asterix is located about 30 min by car from Paris and is based on a very famous series of comic books about Asterix and his small village resisting the roman invasion. It's a comic book written for teenagers and adults more than for young kids so the theme is already more mature than disneyland Paris. Unlike Disneyland (more focused on the pretty and enchanted aspect of the parc), there are a lot more rides and attractions for adults but still provides a lot to do for younger kids, so it's ideal if you go with people from different age groups. There are definitely more bog roller coasters and since there are more attractions, lines are usually not as long. It's also great in the summer since there are several attractions involving water. Another great thing about Parc Asterix are the water shows with dolphins, orcs, seals... It's a good way to sit down and take a break but you need to get there early before the show starts if you wanna to have good seats. Finally, tickets are cheaper than for Disneyland, at least it was the case when I went. There are a few drawbacks compared to Disneyland: it's less easily accessible and the whole experience is definitely less "enchanting" (decor, music, characters...). If you rent a car, it will take you about 30 min to get there from Paris (take Autoroute A1). If you go there using public transportation, you need to take a train (RER B to CDG airport station) and then a bus. To summarize, younger kids would probably prefer DisneyLand, teenagers and adults would probably have more fun at Parc Asterix.
