Advantages: Eat, drink and shop....

However, one worth mentioning, that I have frequently acted upon is a little booklet called Randonnées à Pied, à Cheval et à VTT (walking, riding and cycling routes) issued by the Parc naturel regional de Nord - Pas-de-Calais and obtainable at most Tourist Information Offices, as well as from the main regional one, address as above. Particularly recommended are their walks at Cap Gris-Nez, Forêt d'Ecault/Hardelot-plage, and the Forêt de Boulogne. Strange to relate, they omit the walk around the battlefield of Agincourt, near Hesdin, though this is a pleasant enough outing for an Englishman and there is fun to be had reading the accounts of the 1415 campaign in the Visitor Centre. ...If anyone is a new parent and is facing the dilemma of where to go on holiday I can recommend Centre Parcs. No it's not like a glorified holiday camp and there's not even a hint of hi-de-hi anywhere! It really is as relaxing as the brochure promises (even with a little one in tow). Personally I can't even ride a bike but hired a tricycle and baby went in his own little trailor on the back of his Dads bike. The babysitter we had was great so we went out every evening to eat and get some quality time together. Highly recommended - check out their website.... Read review
