It's Haughty, It's Snotty, It's Pretty....It's Paris!
Advantages: Montmartre, Busy Cafe's, Finding Interesting Parisians, Paris Ambiance Disadvantages: Rude Staring Parisians, Overrated restaurants, Obnoxious Tourists, Expensive Holiday
...the word "city" doesn't fit. Paris is a way of life. It's a Country in itself. It, has it's own language. It has it's own fashion. It even has a piece of "Disney". So, what doesn't it have? Something. Several things. Many can't put their finger on it. Or, they are too afraid to point out it's faults. It's almost like, the moment they speak a criticism, the Parisian Mafia might come and throw them off the Eiffel Tower. Every tourist I've spoken with ... ...beyond "cool" to go to Paris as a child. My father works for a French company and we have lived there for several years off an on. While, it was extremely difficult for my parents to acclimate to the culture change....I would eat it up. I'd stay up till 3am studying French. I'd torture my parents by only responding to them in French. I'd ask for Bread and Cheese for dinner. I was the quintessential Francophile. Wisdom though, comes with age, and ...

Paris, je t'aime
Advantages: Great metro service, beautiful city to explore on foot, Disadvantages: Perhaps more difficult for disabled people, busy busy busy, lots of sellers and beggars, STRIKES
...some of my knowledge of getting around Paris, having spent 9 months living there and having visited on numerous occasions. BY AIR: -One great way of seeing any city is from the air, and it is possible to take helicopter tours over the city. They're pretty pricey though - one quote I found was €250 for adults, €220 for children. Flying is also a popular way of getting to Paris. Paris has three airports - Roissy Charles de Gaulle, Orly and ... ...are a useful way of getting from A to B, particularly with a lot of luggage. Outside the big railway stations, you'll usually find plenty of taxis. Bear in mind that surcharges are often added when four or more people are travelling, or if you're carrying luggage. Taxis aren't cheap and there's always the fear that you might be getting a 'tourist rate' and an unnecessary detour to boot. Although it's not necessarily the best way to see Paris, it ...

Yo ho yo ho a Pirate's Life for me
Advantages: Great costumes, characters, song Disadvantages: None
...Life for me.
The Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland Paris is probably one of my favourite rides. I have also been to the park in California and been on the ride there too and enjoy it in both places.
I think the main reason why it’s such a great ride is because it really has a theme running the whole way through the ride, from queuing up, to the ride itself to the gift shop at the end of the ride. The decorations, the costumes, the music, ... ...experience of Disney.
The Pirates ride is a water based ride and you go through the scenes on a boat, very befitting of a pirate theme. The boat is quite a wide long boat and fits I would say about 20 plus people in it. You sit on benches inside the boat and there are no safety restraints as you do not go fast enough for that. The boat moves quite slowly to allow you to see all the attractions around you. It is also an inside ride and is quite dark, ...

Places to shop in Paris
Advantages: lots of areas to shop, Disadvantages: but spread out and you need to know where to go
I have lived in Paris for 6 months and i understand that it may be difficult to shop in paris if you do not know where to go or if you are there for just the weekend. I must admit it took me a good month to find out where the good shops were!
Buying the tickets:
For starters i would definitely advise you to buy a metro ticket : there are different tickets available such as 1 ticket for 1 journey, a pass of 10 tickets , daily pass called mobili, ... ...passes are called a carte orange and you do need a photo to get it. if you are in paris for just the weekend then i would buy the daily pass for 3 zones (oh yes forgot to mention paris is split into 8 zones or so, but for shopping you only really need the first 3 zones).
Places to go:
Now that you have your tickets the areas to go or metro stops are the following :
Chatelet/les halles: centre of paris where you can find a really long street called ...

Le Village Parisien - a great place to stay for EuroDisney
Advantages: Lovely accommodation, great faciliities, easy access to Disney - loved it! Disadvantages: Camp shop not open all day.
We visited Le Village Parisien in August 2009. Le Village Parisien offers accommodation in mobile homes, chalets or tents - we chose a mobile home.
Our mobile home was absolutely gorgeous, brand spanking new complete with a raised decked patio area with a picnic bench perfect for alfresco dining. Each mobile home/chalet/tent space is in it's own enclosure - giving you privacy. Our mobile home was enclosed on three sides by hedges and had it's own ... ...praise it enough!!
Le Village Parisien is located in a place called Varreddes, which was about a 20 minute drive from EuroDisney and about a 40 minute drive from central Paris. When visiting Disney the shortest route is via a toll road which costs 2 Euros each way, but this was a small price to pay as staying at Le Village Parisien was a LOT cheaper than staying in any of the Disney hotels.
The campite has two pools - one small pool is just for ...
