I wouldn't want a "Holiday Inn" this hotel Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: dull, dull, dull - and not cheap either ...in my room at the Holiday Inn in Paris St Germain de Pres I couldn't help but reflect that the designers drew heavily from that area of the colour palette best characterised by the term 'nicotine'. Not a popular colour card at the 'mix your own Dulux' decorator centre and with good reason. This is a Holiday Inn that's badly in need of refurbishment and I was rather relieved to only be there for the one night. My room was quite astonishingly drab ... ...Good job the Americans invented Holiday Inn so he can't hold that against the French. My colleague said he was jealous and would rather be in my shoes with Paris at my feet for the evening but I wasn't in any mood to take advantage of it. I was on my own, tired and I had work to do. I pre-booked online at the Holiday Inn website which they always say is the cheapest way to book but it also means you have to pay in advance. Simply the Best! Advantages: Staff, Location, Cleanliness Disadvantages: None Hotel Residence Foch has it all: a quiet setting in a high-class residential neighborhood; a perfect location within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, the Metro, and tour buses; artful French decor in the well-appointed rooms; and a generous breakfast buffet to provide fuel for your day. But most of all, there is the staff. Nellie and her desk staff could not be nicer or more helpful, and someone is there 24/7 to take care ... ...to 5-star hotels from Rome to Chicago and if you need that level of amenities (gym, restaurant, etc.), this isn't for you. Small, but perfectly formed boutique hotel Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Tiny baths! ...great nights in Paris at La Villa hotel. The location is fantastic - only a short walk away from loads of exciting restaurants and cafe-bars in the happening Latin Quarter. Try out Le Pres Aux Clercs next door (Hemingway's old haunt apparently, he used to live close by) - the food is fairly expensive but very good and the massive tree in the middle of the dining room is amazing! The hotel itself is on a quiet street in the heart of St Germain, plus ... ...night. The reception staff at La Villa are generally very helpful and the rooms are clean and well-decorated/furnished. Each room is equipped with a minibar, complimentary toiletries,robes and hairdryer. My only complaint is that the baths are very small (I could not lie down in ours, and I am only 5'2"!). A Great Base for Exploring Paris Advantages: Location, Price, Staff Disadvantages: Uphill walk The Comfort Hotel Place Du Tertre is located in the Montmartre area of Paris and is a stone’s throw away from the Sacre Coeur church in one direction and the world famous Moulin Rouge cabaret club in the other. The nearest metro station is Blanche, which is on the blue (number two) line and connects straight to the main train station, Gard Du Nord, which makes it very easily accessible from the airport. From the metro station it is around a five ... ...bed and breakfast at the Comfort Hotel and I would say that this is about as good as you are going to get in terms of value for money. This hotel is no good if you expect luxury – as is always the case, you will have to pay through the roof for that.
