Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Tiny baths!
...great nights in Paris at La Villa hotel. The location is fantastic - only a short walk away from loads of exciting restaurants and cafe-bars in the happening Latin Quarter. Try out Le Pres Aux Clercs next door (Hemingway's old haunt apparently, he used to live close by) - the food is fairly expensive but very good and the massive tree in the middle of the dining room is amazing!
The hotel itself is on a quiet street in the heart of St Germain, plus ... ...night.
The reception staff at La Villa are generally very helpful and the rooms are clean and well-decorated/furnished. Each room is equipped with a minibar, complimentary toiletries,robes and hairdryer. My only complaint is that the baths are very small (I could not lie down in ours, and I am only 5'2"!). There are larger deluxe rooms and suites with bigger baths and separate 'living' areas but they are much more expensive than the normal rooms. ...

...four time per year and Le Meridien Montparnasse is my top choice when rooms are available.
1. The Gare Montparnasse is just across the street and from there you can access the Metro to all of Paris.
2. The Justine restaurant has a buffet every night that is well worth the 37 Euro price. Excellent food, wine, and service. 3. The rooms are clean, large, and comfortable. Internet service is available in the room for a nominal fee.
4. The staff is ... ...(for more casual dining) and Le Montparnasse 25 for more formal dining and top rated food.
Okay, now the only complaint I can even come up with is that when big events (soccer championships, Paris Air Show, Automobile Convention, etc.) come to Paris, Le Meridien books up very fast and getting a room can be a challenge. During the Paris Air Show I managed to get a room but had to pay "rack rates" (410 Euros per night!!!!) for it. I thought my manager ...

...that the hotel room at Concorde Lafayette costs 450 euro at that time but we only paid 180 euro as per a business agreement between my company and the hotel. This does not justify the poor quality of the service of course. Now when I arrive to a new city I always check that my hotel room is quite and clean before even I worry about food. ...

Advantages: Near Eifel Tower Disadvantages: Cheated, no common sense manager
...and I stayed in this hotel during our honeymoon in 29th November 2007. The hotel's decoration, room space and location are above average. However our honeymoon holiday was spoilt by an inconsiderate and lack of common sense manager on the last day of our stay 5th December.
We had to leave the hotel very early in the morning to catch a train to Zurich, so we enquired for alternative breakfast that is part of our package. The manager on the previous ... ...that option, and while we were rushing to check out the following day, the manager charged us 9 Euro dollars for two omelettes whichs looks like plain eggs to me. We told the manager that it is unfair to charge us as he never indicated it is chargable. He simply said I am sorry but you have to pay. This discussion went on for 15 mins and we had no choice but to pay because we were late for our train.
This resulted us to miss our train to Zurich ...
