I wouldn't want a "Holiday Inn" this hotel Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: dull, dull, dull - and not cheap either ...in my room at the Holiday Inn in Paris St Germain de Pres I couldn't help but reflect that the designers drew heavily from that area of the colour palette best characterised by the term 'nicotine'. Not a popular colour card at the 'mix your own Dulux' decorator centre and with good reason. This is a Holiday Inn that's badly in need of refurbishment and I was rather relieved to only be there for the one night. My room was quite astonishingly drab ... ...Good job the Americans invented Holiday Inn so he can't hold that against the French. My colleague said he was jealous and would rather be in my shoes with Paris at my feet for the evening but I wasn't in any mood to take advantage of it. I was on my own, tired and I had work to do. I pre-booked online at the Holiday Inn website which they always say is the cheapest way to book but it also means you have to pay in advance. Radisson SAS 4 **Hotel Charles De Gaulle Airport Advantages: Near Roissy Charles De Gaulle Airport Disadvantages:** Situated in a business area There is a free shuttle service running from the airport terminals and vice versa, however they are only small and only carry around 7 people at a time. The hotel is situated in a business area, so you can not really walk around to see nearby villages as it is really quiet and a bit eerie after dark. The hotel itself is clean and tidy,we had trouble to start off with as our keycard would not work to open our room, so had to be allocated another ... ...so we were allocated a third card. Check in however was quick, the shuttle service should in my opinion be larger to carry more passengers as some people had to wait for the next one. The hotel is about six miles away from the airport and the trip takes 10-15 minutes. The room was of normal size as hotel rooms go the bed was made for us daily and the toiletries were stocked up everyday. Classy inexpensive hotel in the heart of Paris Advantages: Proximity to the Champs-Elysées Disadvantages: None Located between the Champs Elysees and avenue Georges V, (Paris 8th) the hotel frontenac is a great place to stay. I stayed there last month, and I remember having booked the hotel on 123 France (http://www.123france.com/123/en/hotel.php?idhot=64). The hotel is in front of Zegna and other fashion designers. The Eiffel Tower is a half hour walk and Concorde is something like 10 minutes. A Great Base for Exploring Paris Advantages: Location, Price, Staff Disadvantages: Uphill walk The Comfort Hotel Place Du Tertre is located in the Montmartre area of Paris and is a stone’s throw away from the Sacre Coeur church in one direction and the world famous Moulin Rouge cabaret club in the other. The nearest metro station is Blanche, which is on the blue (number two) line and connects straight to the main train station, Gard Du Nord, which makes it very easily accessible from the airport.
