Advantages: Conveniently located near a metro station, clean and comfortable Disadvantages: Breakfast was expensive and information in rooms was all in french
We arrived at the hotel very late and found the reception staff to be very friendly although not enough staff were on hand to help the number of customers there at the time. After a long journey all we wanted was to get up to our rooms but we did have a long wait. The rooms were basic but clean and relatively comfortable. All the information in the room was in french which wasn't very helpfull, I do speak a certain amount of french but don't know ... ...station was right outside and the hotel is very conveniently placed to do the normal tourist sights without too many problems. Overall we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel and most of the staff went out of their way to assist in any way they could. I would recommend to any traveller looking for a no-frills hotel in Paris. ...
Advantages: Elegant, upmarket and nice rooms Disadvantages: Pricey and could be too formal for some
...whilst there was the Sofitel Arc De Triomphe. This hotel was another one of my favourites due to the nice standard although I did prefer the sister hotel Sofitel Le Faubourg out of the two.
The hotel:
As I am sure is obvious by now from my opening statement the hotel is part of the Sofitel chain. It is classed as a 4 star luxury hotel and is certainly fair to say it is. The hotel is more of a classic luxury type rather than modern luxury by the ... ...located pretty close to the Arc De Triomphe which I'm sure is obvious by the name but, I thought it might be worth mentioning that this is indeed the case, as with so many hotels nowadays the name can sometimes be just that and not actually be in connection with location at all! So yes the hotel is located close to the famous Parisian landmark and is actually at 14 Rue Beaujon and is in the 8th Arondissemont. First impressions:

Advantages: Close to Peripherique and some businesses Disadvantages: Poor A/C during warm weather and too far from most attractions
...this trip we stayed at Novotel Porte D'Orleans because of the soccer championships filled most of my favorite hotels. I have stayed at Novotel Porte D'Orleans on several occasions, so felt comfortable staying here again on what was a partly business trip and partly holiday.
On the positive side, the hotel has renovated the rooms with a new, sleek and contemporary style with some very nice amenities. For example, there was an LCD flat screen TV, ... ...that room.
In summary, Novotel Porte D'Orleans is okay for the business traveler, but I cannot recommend it for the tourist. It is far from the beaten paths to Paris attractions. It's a three block walk to the Metro station.
If you are warm natured, DO NOT stay there during the warm season. I spoke to other hotel guests at breakfast and 100% of them shared my same experience with non-functional air conditioning. This does not speak well for this ...
Advantages: Modern, funky, nice restaurant Disadvantages: Is slightly pricey for a 3 star hotel
...couple of hotels in the Novotel chain. The first one was the Novotel Vaugirard which is a 3 star hotel. Whilst here I even enjoyed a meal in the restaurant which I will come to later on but, first let me tell you about the hotel.
The hotel:
The hotel is distinguishable from the outside as being a Novotel by the standard blue written signage on the building along with the sign outside the door. Nothing really particular stands out as you pull up ... ...that I feel uncomfortable! The Novotel Vaugirard meets the criteria as it has the modern design but staff are friendly and polite without being pretentious. The lobby was one of those for me where I walk into and think 'ah I like it already!' before even seeing a room. For all I knew at this stage the rooms could've have been a mess but, I was instantly hooked by the decor - for me this says that they have done what they intended - grabbed a client ...
Advantages: Proximity to the Champs-Elysées Disadvantages: None
Located between the Champs Elysees and avenue Georges V, (Paris 8th) the hotel frontenac is a great place to stay. I stayed there last month, and I remember having booked the hotel on 123 France (http://www.123france.com/123/en/hotel.php?idhot=64).
The hotel is in front of Zegna and other fashion designers. The Eiffel Tower is a half hour walk and Concorde is something like 10 minutes.
The breakfast at the hotel was quite good, the service was ...
