Classy inexpensive hotel in the heart of Paris Advantages: Proximity to the Champs-Elysées Disadvantages: None Located between the Champs Elysees and avenue Georges V, (Paris 8th) the hotel frontenac is a great place to stay. I stayed there last month, and I remember having booked the hotel on 123 France (http://www.123france.com/123/en/hotel.php?idhot=64). The hotel is in front of Zegna and other fashion designers. The Eiffel Tower is a half hour walk and Concorde is something like 10 minutes. Well presented hotel in a great area of Paris Advantages: location is perfect, clean and well decorated room, great shower room Disadvantages: no bath in classic double room, breakfast not included ...have just stayed in the Artus hotel on my first to Paris and was really impressed with it. It was difficult knowing which area to stay in but was totally pleased with our decision to stay here. The Artus is in the Saint Germain area of Paris which is on the left bank of the River Seine and adjacent to the Latin Quarter. The hotel is ideally placed as it is central to the main places that you would want to visit in Paris (Arc de Triumphe, Eiffle Tower, ... ...road the Artus is on a great little street it's bustling with cafes bars and restaurants and there are some great independant shops and art galleries here and on the adjacent streets. The nearest underground Metro stop is barely 3 mins walk away (Mabillion) or 5 mins walk will take you to St Germain des Pres Metro stop which is on the underground line that will take you directly to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar terminal. A Great Base for Exploring Paris Advantages: Location, Price, Staff Disadvantages: Uphill walk The Comfort Hotel Place Du Tertre is located in the Montmartre area of Paris and is a stone’s throw away from the Sacre Coeur church in one direction and the world famous Moulin Rouge cabaret club in the other. The nearest metro station is Blanche, which is on the blue (number two) line and connects straight to the main train station, Gard Du Nord, which makes it very easily accessible from the airport. From the metro station it is around a five ... ...bed and breakfast at the Comfort Hotel and I would say that this is about as good as you are going to get in terms of value for money. This hotel is no good if you expect luxury – as is always the case, you will have to pay through the roof for that. Perfect Hostel - It's All In The Name! Advantages: Great location, staff and price Disadvantages: It's very basic -The Hotel- - As an ardent lover of all things Parisien, I have visitied the city numerous times and found this hotel a few years ago. Not the 'Paris' experience I was expecting Advantages: near to subway station and nice bakery Disadvantages: dirty basic rooms, scary man in our room, generally rude staff ...hostels when I arrived at Hostel Richard. Nothing, however prepared me for the experience ahead of me. On arriving at about 10pm my friend and I found the front door to the hostel blocked shut from the inside with a chair. After knocking on the door a man let us in, and in my opinion was rather rude! Throughout our check in he kept trying to look behind us to see the TV (which appeared to be showing some sort of porn!). The Hostel room was the dirtiest ... ...simply daren't visit the communal shower room! We used our sleeping bags as the sheets were dirty too. On our last night we were due to leave early in the morning - about 4pm to catch an early train. We were awake and getting ready at about 3am, when our bedroom door was unlocked from the outside, and the man from our check in experience entered our room.
