High ceilings, luxurious drapes, grand proportions, beautiful furniture, quality all round. The bedrooms were spacious I think about 325 sq ft, there was an entrance vestibule, with bathroom to one side and bedroom straight on. PS I booked the standard hotel room 490 Euro’s per night.
The bedroom had a queen size bed, some fine silky cotton type sheets and was incredibly comfortable, mirrored wardrobes ... ...info re Paris and the hotel could be found (pity no one told us about this, we found out just before we left).
The bathroom was a good size, but not huge, double sinks with swan neck taps, large cream marble bath with shower (the shower didn’t work properly), slippers were provided as were bath robes (both were to small for me, I’m a 32 inch waist 42 inch chest with size 9.5 feet, not exactly Mr Large).

Holiday Inn Republic, Paris, France
This is a big hotel near the centre of Paris, the website makes it look great, the façade and location are impressive, its got 4 stars, and loads of facilities BUT don’t go there unless you get a deal for £100 or less for two per night. The rack rate is an incredible 350 Euro’s.
Why is the hotel rubbish?
1 The rooms haven’t been refurbished since, 1985 ish
2 The bar (says on the website ... ...of the other 20 odd Holiday Inn full service hotels I’ve stayed in, how it manages 4 stars is beyond me. In fact the Holiday Inn Express’s I’ve stayed in are better than this place and half the price.
I stay in 100+ hotels every year and this is the worst value for money hotel I’ve been in.
PS It was probably the bar shutting at 11 that irked me the most, and I did actually get a drink served to me in the foyer of the hotel after there was a near ...

...We stayed at the Regina Opera for 2 nights in February 2004. The hotel is located in the 10th Arrondissement in an easily accessible location. It's off the main street so it's not too noisy at night, in an area that seems to have a large number of Turkish residents and restaurants. Back on the main road, however, are a wide variety of bars, clubs and restaurants to take your pick from - we would definately recommend La Criee on Boulevard Bonne Nouvelle ... ...can access the following page it is a pretty accurate reflection of the rooms:

(Beware if doing an internet search that you don't get this hotel confused with the Hotel Regina on Place de les pyramides (opposite the Louvre) which is a rather posh 4 * hotel!!) ...

The Hilton also boasts 2 plush and comfortable dining rooms, "Le Saffran" and "Art Deco Brasserie". Le Saffran serves traditional cuisine as well as a plethora of foods from all over the world, whereas Art Deco Brasserie serves the finest local cuisine to a very very very high standard (although they could ... ...reiterate that everything in the Hilton comes at a hefty price. Even a glass of house white will set you back approximately £7/£8, whilst a small beer will cost roughly £5/£6.
The Hilton literally swarms with staff, from the concierges at the front desk, to the bellboys and valeters, so theres never a dull moment. It also boasts a beauty salon, 2 spas, a florist and a ballroom. For the high-powered executive, the Hilton offers a massive meeting ...

The hotel:
The hotel is classed as a 4 star hotel but, is not a luxury style hotel compared to others of the same rating within Paris city centre. The hotel has plenty of facilities which I'll go through later and is quite large with 405 rooms.
Location: The hotel is one of the closest to the Eiffel Tower and from the front entrance there is a smashing view of the tower. Some of the rooms also have a ... ...enough to have one of those ones! The hotel is located at 20 Rue Jean Rey and is actually located right next door to the Hilton Paris hotel. Officially in the 15th Arondissemont it is located on the left bank of the city centre.
