Cecil Hotel, Paris
Advantages: Good location in the city Disadvantages: Basic
A well located hotel, set close to the heart of Paris. Quite easy to find and near a good range of shops and restaurant, as well as the sights! The Hotel itself is nice but quite basic. The rooms are a fair size with most rooms benefit from a terrace. Mine overlooked the nearby church. Every room has its own en suite, although the facilities were fair the bathroom would have benefited from ventilation as it the steam was causing mould growth.
The ... ...drink with an option of cornflakes and a juice. This could have done with being more substantial.
Generally the staff could have been friendlier and more helpful.
Overall if you are looking for a well located hotel at a fair price this is fine, but don't expect the Ritz! ...

Hotel Ibis Ornano, Montmartre, Paris
Advantages: Great value for money, great location and easy access Disadvantages: None
This hotel is great value for money. Situated very near to Montmartre it is an ideal base for seeing Paris on a budget. With good Metro access (Porte de Clignancourt) is only a couple of minutes walk, it is easy to get to from any of the main railway stations and easy to reach all of the attractions of Paris by Metro or bus. In the immediate area, there is a special bus service that will take you up the hill to Montmartre for a visit to the Sacre ... ...Then hop back on the bus to go to down the hill to the Place Pigalle, location of the Moulin Rouge. A Paris Visite travel card (available for 1 to 5 days) will give you travel on buses, Metro and trains across all of Paris.
With many other attractions in the area, the Hotel Ornano is well situated for great bars and bistros, just off the main tourist track, so the prices are much more reasonable, and the standard of the food generally excellent. ...

hotel du cadran
Advantages: location, clean, english friendly Disadvantages: small ish rooms
Stayed here in August 2008 and I have to say it was one of the most pleasant experiences of a great trip to a great city. Set in a perfect location, 5 mins for the Eiffel Tower and great connections to all over the city. Wonderful shops and restaurants right on the doorstep. The staff are friendly and do not mind speaking English. We had a problem with our room and they sorted it straight away. It was clean, modern, quiet and comfortable and it has ... ...Parisian hotels they are not massive the rooms but everything you could want is provided and if not just ask... they seemed willing to help us with anything. Breakfast was a bit expensive so we went to one of the nearby cafes. much cheaper and could sit on the street and watch the city do its thing.... ...

ooh la la- I love Paris!
Advantages: right in the centre Disadvantages: small room- but thats Paris
I stayed in the Pavillon Louvre Rivoli- Paris for 3 nights on a work trip in November 2005. I was really impressed with the hotel's location- a ten minute walk from Galeries Lafayette, I was in heaven!
The desk staff in the hotel were very courteous and polite and there was a lift which was handy to get my bags to my room. My room was on the small side but as there was only me staying in the room (even though it was a double) I didnt mind, and paris ... ...room was pleasantly decorated in pale yellow and terracotta shades, the bathroom was again very small but very clean and toiletries provided, plenty of hot water as well!
One thing slightly annoying was that on the first evening i reported the bedside lamp as not working, and despite reporting this again the next day it was still not fixed by the time I left. however i did mention it on checking out and the manageress was very apologetic.
Breakfast ...

Nice little cheap hotel
Advantages: Cheap, great location, near Metro links Disadvantages: Small rooms, not a great breakfast selection
I stayed in the Timhotel Tour Eiffel from the 17th to the 18th of March with my boyfriend. We booked the holiday through Thomson.co.uk and it cost 86 pounds for the two of us for one night.
The trip was for my 21st birthday, and since we were there for only a short time and were mainly there for siteseeing, the hotel was basically just a base camp for us.
The reason we chose the hotel was mainly because it was pretty cheap, and we liked the idea ... ...also because of it's close proximity to the Metro Station (Dupleix), as we didn't quite fancy having to wander about Paris trying to find our hotel!!
As it was, once we'd managed to actually get on a Metro (our sense of direction wasn't too good!) and get off at the right stop, it turned out even though it was 'right next to the station' we still took a while to find it! Tip - once you get off at the Dupleix station literally just cross the road ...
