Le meridien Paris Advantages: spotlessly clean, luxury hotel. Disadvantages: costs ...cook, and we decided on Le meridian hotel in Montparnasse – Paris. The hotel was built in 1974 and has 25 floors, with eight lifts (elevators) and 953 rooms. The hotel offers a range of ‘extras’ including, 24 hour room service and reception and concierge desk: Fax machine, interconnecting rooms, e-mail facilities, Currency exchange, Laundry/dry cleaning service, Safe deposit and express check out. I expect these are the norm these days. Formal elegance Advantages: Elegant, upmarket and nice rooms Disadvantages: Pricey and could be too formal for some ...whilst there was the Sofitel Arc De Triomphe. This hotel was another one of my favourites due to the nice standard although I did prefer the sister hotel Sofitel Le Faubourg out of the two. The hotel: As I am sure is obvious by now from my opening statement the hotel is part of the Sofitel chain. It is classed as a 4 star luxury hotel and is certainly fair to say it is. The hotel is more of a classic luxury type rather than modern luxury by the ... ...located pretty close to the Arc De Triomphe which I'm sure is obvious by the name but, I thought it might be worth mentioning that this is indeed the case, as with so many hotels nowadays the name can sometimes be just that and not actually be in connection with location at all! So yes the hotel is located close to the famous Parisian landmark and is actually at 14 Rue Beaujon and is in the 8th Arondissemont. Just another Novotel.....or is it? Advantages: Clean, very modern, nice rooms and great rates Disadvantages: Some will prefer a hotel closer to the Champs Elysee ...Paris and this time the Novotel Tour Eiffel. I was really looking forward to arriving at this hotel because I had heard so much about it and so I already had an idea in my head about what it would be like. The hotel: The hotel is a 4 star hotel that is located quite close to the Eiffel tower on the left bank in the 15th Arondissement of Paris. It is in fact just across the main road from the river bank. I will not choose Concorde Lafayette anymore Advantages: Excellent location Disadvantages: Poor service quality ...that the hotel room at Concorde Lafayette costs 450 euro at that time but we only paid 180 euro as per a business agreement between my company and the hotel. This does not justify the poor quality of the service of course. This is my favorite place to stay in Paris Advantages: Close to everything and fine dining Disadvantages: Can be pricey when events come to town ...four time per year and Le Meridien Montparnasse is my top choice when rooms are available. 1. The Gare Montparnasse is just across the street and from there you can access the Metro to all of Paris. 2. The Justine restaurant has a buffet every night that is well worth the 37 Euro price. Excellent food, wine, and service. 3. The rooms are clean, large, and comfortable. Internet service is available in the room for a nominal fee. 4. The staff is ... ...(for more casual dining) and Le Montparnasse 25 for more formal dining and top rated food. Okay, now the only complaint I can even come up with is that when big events (soccer championships, Paris Air Show, Automobile Convention, etc.) come to Paris, Le Meridien books up very fast and getting a room can be a challenge. During the Paris Air Show I managed to get a room but had to pay "rack rates" (410 Euros per night!!!!) for it. I thought my manager ...
