great food and great atmosphere
Review of Planet Hollywood, Paris by frankiecesca

Advantages: food is good
Disadvantages: none that i can think of

...day days meal vouchers for Planet Hollywood in the Disney Village. As we had booked the whole package through a tour operator we booked the vouchers with them. Each voucher cost £13 per person and this was for a 'Pretty Woman' meal voucher which meant that we could have a main meal from a set selection and a desert plus a drink. Considering cost of meals to buy once you are at Disney we decided this would be a good option to have prebooked as it ...
...is the same as all Planet Hollywood restaurants with the usual memorabilia on the walls and the entrance to this particular one is pretty groovy with a red tunnel that is lit up at night that takes you up to the second floor of the restaurant. There is also a bar upstairs where you can get a drink should you need to wait for a table. Overall it was a pleasant experience with great service, great food and brilliant atmosphere - more so in the evening ... Read review

Long live the King
Review of Rex Club by peel.rebekah

Advantages: Jolly good night out
Disadvantages: pricey drinks

The Rex is one of those clubs that everyone has to go to at one time or another. Its not a pretty place but that is probably the last of your worries when looking for somewhere to boogie the night away. The black interior is somewhat daunting and the chewing gum on the seats is something to be aware of if you are wearing your best frock. But you are not coming here for the interior design are you? This is the best place in Paris for international ...
...make the Rex, but the Rex makes the djs as well. Probably the most varied place for dance music in Paris, you can expect techno-trance, drumnbass, ibiza, house, garage, jungle etc all depending on who is at the turntable. Check local french press for details, try 'Liberation'. Because the Rex is not really in the tourist quarters you tend to find a lot of locals there, that is to say a lot of serious clubbers and the odd cool weekender, don't be ... Read review

Trop Cher!
Review of The Monkey Club by SophieD

Advantages: A beautiful trendy venue
Disadvantages: Extortionate prices

The Monkey Club (rue Pierre Charron) opened in Paris at the beginning of September and is advertised as the hottest place in Paris! It combines a restaurant, dance area and VIP room in a fashionable Parisien manner. The venue is wonderful and artfully and tastefully decorated. However, as a place to see and be seen the place lacked genuine relaxed fun! The food was average, the staff unfriendly and the drinks seemd to double in price on an hourly ...
...for a soft drink! Beware the VIP area as here you are expected to purchase a bottle of spirits for a mere 850FF!!! If you enjoy a fusion of acid jazz/junk and money is not a problem then maybe this is the place for you; if, however, like us you were looking to boogy your little cotton socks off 'til dawn in a happening place without breaking the bank you'll be wandering the streets until dawn waiting for the Eurostar train home... ... STAY IN TOUCH
Review of Le Shop Internet Café by thingywhatsit

Advantages: Keeps you in touch.
Disadvantages: Different keyboards

...good range of Internet cafes. Le Shop is one of these and upon visiting for the first time, I was amazed first of all by the size of the cafe, and then by the range of services available. The cafe is easy to find and is located within a stones throw from the Metro station at Luxemburg so is easy to get to. You see banks of computers in rows, and think that this little cyber world is just a straightforward link to the Internet but it is more than ...
...AZERTI, but they go further than that. There are keyboards for all different languages as well and they really do cater for all the people that visit Paris and want to stay in touch. On being greeted in the cafe, you are given a ticket and its quite a casual atmosphere. Intense gaming between french youngsters is taking place most times I have visited, and they really do go in for serious gaming. Once connection, the computers are distant enough ... Read review

More Montmartre Magic
Review of Le Verger du Montmartre, Paris by kenhanslip

Advantages: Cosy little restaurant
Disadvantages: small

Le Verger du Montmartre was recommended to me by the Patron of Au Claire de la Lune who was sadly off on his holidays the day after we visited his restaurant. I asked him to recommend somewhere nearby that produced quality French cuisine and his recommendation was firts class. Le verger is a small restaurant in the rue lamarck just at the foot of the Sacre Coeur. there are only 12 or so tables so getting there early pays off. Another good sign is ...
...and this is a good sign indeed. A small, but excellenty balanced menu of regional cooking was on offer from the Patron who was sat outside basking in the late evening warmth, swilling his glass of cognac nonchalantly as we arrived. A man who was slow to warm ,but once he did provided good service. So much so, that when I asked him to recommend a wine, he didn't even stripe us up!! Food is freshly prepared and the starters were sublime. Main courses ... Read review
