A recent trip to Paris was extremely delightful. We stayed at the 'le Meridien' hotel in Montparnasse. The city of Paris has a population of around 22.2 million people, and it seems none of them eat in doors! Every cafe, restaurant, etc was usually packed. And all have tables very close together. Being disabled and in a wheelchair, I can certainly say that Paris is not a wheelchair friendly place. In fact it is completely unfriendly. However, I would go again.
The roads must have one of the most amounts of traffic lights I have ever seen, and the drivers are well terrible. They have no care for anyone except theirselves. If you are able bodied, the metro system (underground) is never far away, there was also a host of buses and taxis available.I can not comment on any except the taxis. If you have lugguage, beware they charge you for each case or piece of lugguage. My wheelchair included on one occasion. The fares, are not that expnsive in the taxis.
The Sights are wonderful, and the Eiffel tower kept me amazed. Not having the guts or time to venture up it, I stood underneathn and looked up. It is an absolute amazing thing.
BEWARE, Paris is expesnive. We paid the following prices. 2 plastic combs - £16.20 1 can coke - £2.50 2 Omelettes and 1 teas £12.00 3 course dinnner- £22.00 pp
Having said all this, Paris is definetly worth a visit, and I would go again tomorrow, should my finaces allow.
