Paris city of romance, i think not, there is more romance in a card board box in the rubbish dump! I can not see what the attraction is. We thought we would go to paris for a romantic weekend and undoubtedly some of the sights are beautiful but as a city you can keep it.
I thought Paris was dirty, smelly and one of the most unfriendly places i have ever been. The locals are rude, bombastic and unfriendly, except for one girl in a cafe hidden in the back streets.! It costs a fortune to eat and drink or take a ride on the river, which by the way you cant see whilst sitting in a roadside cafe because of the big barriers either side.
Be very aware of the traffic whilst walking around in Paris, no one seems to recognise a red light means stop so you could actually get run over whilst crossing on a pedestrian crossing. The city is full of scooters, bikes and cars all tooting their horns and getting irate with each other so why should they notice poor old pedestrians eh?
I didnt feel romantic at all in this city, the hotel rooms were extremely small, which i have heard said by many others now, we couldnt put the suitcase at the end of beds because it blocked the tiny bathroom off! It was very noisy of a night and we didnt sleep much.
We were on a four day break and i would have happily come home after two. Never again, i'd rather go to Barcelona for romance, much better!

I have never been to France and wa splanning to go as part of our honeymoon later on this year. I am not sure whether we will choose Paris after your review. More details needed though. Tuxley

Yeah me neither, didnt really like the people there!! I nearly got rob on the metro!! There are a lot of pcik pockets!!! rosey x
