Advantages: Something a bit different from your regular German city hotels Disadvantages: Limited choice in the restaurant
Yoho is the abbreviation for the 'Youth Hotel' and it's located in Hamburg. I'll admit that when I was told to book it for a visit earlier this week, I did worry that it might be like a youth hostel. Perhaps before I checked out in the morning they would make me clean my room or wash the dishes. Fortunately neither was the case, and despite the strange name, I found a rather charming modern hotel located in a nice old historic building. The main criteria by which they justify the name is that they offer slightly lower prices for guests who are under 26. Sadly nothing I can benefit from any more. Advantages: Central location Disadvantages: Bad service with grubby rooms
As some of you may already know, I have recently returned from a lovely break in Houston, Texas. The main reason for our trip was to go to "Wrestlemania", the WWE's large yearly event. Yes it is slightly sad to travel 5000 miles for wrestling, but you only live once and I am indeed sad! We booked our wrestling part of the trip direct with WWE and thought the packages sounded like the best deal for our money. Included was 3 nights in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Houston as well as a lot of other boring wrestling things I won't bore you with! ;)
My initial reaction when we were told and confirmed on the package, of where we would be staying for the last 3 nights of our trip, I was ecstatic ...
Advantages: That presidential suite looks nice, good views over the city Disadvantages: Service isn't fantastic, above budget for the average traveller
the roads with its floors of gleaming, skyscraper accommodation. When the celebrities are performing in the city, they tend to stay here – I know that both Kylie and Madonna have occupied suites in the hotel (albeit on the VIP floor) so the Hyatt is therefore definitely aiming for the luxury end of the market.
If you are arriving by car, the hotel is relatively easy to find. Birmingham City centre is easily accessible from a number of motorways, although I would recommend inspecting the route on a street map, as the one-way system can be a bit awkward. The main entrance to the hotel is just off Broad Street, on a side street, which also houses the central Travel Inn Metro. An NCP car park just around the corner provides discounted car parking, the cost of which (£8 overnight) is debited to your room account. If you are arriving in ...
