I stayed in the Ramada Hotel in Belfast and I must say that the experiance had its flaws and its charms. I normally stay in the Hilton or the Europa in Belfast if I ever decide to stay but because of the busy Valintines Day period I was unable to book a room in either of these hotels so I then decided to book a room with the Ramada.
The price of this hotel was reasonable, at £79 a night, I think that this is a great price for a hotel of this standard because compared to the Hilton thats rooms can cost up to £125 a night for a twin room this is a great price for a Friday night, though the Travel Lodge probably would have been cheaper if you decide to go away for lesiure reasons sometimes that hotel wont cut it.
The Room I received was clean, tidy and had lots of space in it, there were two double beds and it allowed smoking (as I ...
Advantages: Convenient to the Centre of town, helpful staff, easy to get to/from Disadvantages: Noisy traffic, no car parking, worst breakfast in the UK!
My company had their Christmas Party at Jury's in London a couple of years ago, so I thought it would be a good bet for my first visit to Belfast.
But it did not compare at all to the Jury's Hotel in London. It was convenient to get to from the Belfast City Airport - taxi cost 7 pounds sterling, and the room rate was not bad for a business/work week stay at 65 pounds sterling per night (the rack rate on the wall is 71 and their website is 69, so it pays to get your travel agent to book them for you!) The lobby area was marble and nice looking, and the staff was helpful - complimentary newspapers, etc., but when I got to my room, it was a disappointment - the paint was chipped in the bathroom around the mirror, the furnishings could use an update, and the traffic was very noisy since I overlooked the main street. I had a great view ...
Advantages: City Centre, close to night life, good room quaility Disadvantages: No onsite car parking
I have now stayed here twice, and have to say that on both occasions the experience was a positive one. The Holiday Inn, 22 Ormeau Avenue, Belfast, has 170 rooms and is of a very high quality in the specification.
On both occasions I was staying over as I was going out that evening in Belfast. It is a bit expensive to stay over in a hotel, but well its so nice to pamper yourself, and you don't have to worry about taxi's or making breakfast the next morning.
The cost was £108 per night with the first night a little cheaper. This was Christmas and so was dearer, I think Belfast can be more expensive though for what's a provincial/regional city. However you pretty much know what you are getting when you stay with the Holiday Inn Group, and it was a 4 star.
