I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in November 2008 before I flew out on holiday from Heathrow. On arriving at the hotel it was a bit chaotic as the lobby seemed to be full of people leaving for the airport but there wasn't enough porters or luggage trolleys to go around, at one point a fight nearly broke out over the last trolley! After standing and watching with ammusment for 5 minutes we reached the front of the queue for reception and were checked in quickly and efficiently by a friendly receptionist. We then made our way back across the crowded lobby and into the lift (complete with mood lighting).
We had a room on the second floor with a view of the airport. At first we were a bit concerned about the airport noise but once the windows were shut you could not hear a thing. The room was very modern looking, very clean and the bed fantastically comfy. The bathroom was also very clean and the power shower was one of the best I have ever used! We did ring housekeeping to ask for extra pillows as there were only 2 on the bed and they were brought to the room within 5 minutes of phoning. The room also had a work desk, flat screen tv, internet connection, electronic safe, tea and coffee making facilities hair dryer, trouser press and ironing board. We also had a booklet describing the facilities of the hotel which includes a indoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi, fitness centre with cardio-vascular equipment, sauna and solarium. We didn't use the fitness centre so I cant comment on this but we did have a look and it seemed very swish!
On the first evening we didn't fancy eating in the hotel (as it seemed quite expensive) so we asked the conceiage if there was anywhere local to eat. We were expecting a big spiel about how fantastic the hotel restaurant is but suprisingly he advised us not to eat in the restaurant as it is a rip-off! We found this frankness quite funny and he quickly directed us to the pub across the road - The Three Magpies. We had a lovely pub meal in there and a couple of drinks for less than £20! There is also a McDonalds a 10 minute walk away, which we were once again directed to by the conceiage. The next morning we had breakfast in the hotel as we had paid for this whilst booking the room. If you purchase breakfast as an extra it costs £14.95 per adult and kids eat free. It is buffet style and caters for everyone, it had full english and european options. The quality of food was very high but it still seemed a bit expensive unless you can eat a lot of food in one sitting!
We left for the airport the next day and got on the 'Hoppa Bus'. This is a fleet of buses which shuttle passengers to and from the terminals. It costs around £4 per person.
We paid £188 for 2 nights for 2 adults including breakfast, we booked directly through the Park Inn website. I would definitely stay here again as it was good value for money and very convenient for the airport.

I've stopped here before for one night, and it was pretty good. I also was surprised how quiet it was, having an airport view room too.

We stayed at a couple of different hotels pre- flight and the night included 15 days free parking. Had to pay for the Hoppa bus of course but they are a great idea. Sue
