Park Lodge

Advantages: Friendly, close to family attractions. Close to transport. Cheap
Disadvantages: Buses can sometimes be noisy.

Park Lodge Guest House 122 Summergangs Road HU8 8LP http://www.parklodgehull.com Ok, so firstly a little about this place to set the scene? Park Lodge Guest House is situated in Hull, East Yorkshire, just off one of the main roads running from the town centre. It gets it name from the large park next door, which is a great place and I will talk about it in a bit. It has been operating as a guest house for about 20 years, but just over 1 year ago it was down-sized. It used to have 11 guest bedrooms, and was comprised of two large houses and a smaller building, but the other main house was sold, and the smaller building converted. The people who run the show are Malcolm Purcell, the proprietor, and his partner Marie Moverley. Also I help out on the weekends, and am usually the person called if something goes wrong, (they ...

Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks

Advantages: Great Site and location
Disadvantages: Evening entertainment - no good

Stayed here earlier this year, with my two young children. Who loved the place. The caravan was basic, but adequate. It was clean, had all the things we needed, did'nt find the black out blinds on the bedrroms until the last night!!!! The decking on the caravan was great, was able to sit out there and enjoy the view. There was a double decker bus that ran around the sites, and Woolacombe, but did cost a few pounds. The shop on site was well packed, and the shop keeper was friendly and always helpful - apart from being on duty 24hours a day. The evening entertainment, was well worth missing, I have heard cats whale better. The play park was good, plenty of toys to play on, but the ground surface needs some attention. Check in was simple and easy. Parking for our carvan was down a grassy bank, ok in the dry. ...

Down By The Bay

Advantages: Lots to do, reasonably priced holiday, excellent staff
Disadvantages: The hill

pestered you into buying tickets for. When Bourne Leisure took them over it seemed that the things we loved about Haven were all evaporating slowly but surely and when some of the staff at one Haven site mentioned that Park Resorts had kept the old style that had once made Haven great, we decided to give them a try. ***The Location*** We love Devon and Cornwall, so when we saw the Bideford Bay site in the brochure, it wasn't difficult to decide that this was the one to try. The site itself isn't actually situated in Bideford, but is about 9 miles down the coast and the main gates to the site can be found in a lovely little place called Bucks Cross. There isn't an easy way down to the beach from the site but nearby you can find some fantastic beaches at Westward Ho and Bude, as well as some lovely surfer dudes too. I have to admit ...
