This a good idea because of getting all the timings right, and with them if the flight is late and you miss all the dolphins they will arrange the sea plane for more than two of you, or overnight accommodation. We booked our accommodation through a company callled Spirit of Greece. Through them we also booked our return crossings from Corfu to Paxos on the flying dolphin. This a good idea because of getting all the timings right, and with them if the flight is late and you miss all the dolphins they will arrange the sea plane for more than two of you, or overnight accommodation. We stayed in the village of Loggos a small charming very pretty little village We had a two bedroom two bathroom apartment, which was about a 10 minute walk from the village - but be warned this walk is down a donkey track, which is fine on the way down and in the light, but coming up at night can be very tricky. A torch is a very definate must to pack. Where we were situated was very peaceful, with only one other apartment which was occuppied that same week through the trees which you couldn't really see. We had two balconies and a large swimming pool. The building had previously been two separate apartments, and had a curious tunnel thing connecting the bedrooms, which was a bit spooky, and I never used preferring to go round the outside. The bedrooms were large, and the king size bed was lovely and comfy. It was not at all luxurious but was comfortable and had everything we needed really.
Loggos in my opinion is the prettiest and nicest of the three harbours. There were about four restaurants, one of which had already closed as the end of the season was approaching. There were also a couple of bars. Supermarkets amounted to three I believe, and although stock was getting low we managed for the week. We ate out most of the time anyway, just having breakfast out on one of the balconies. The supermarkets offered free delivery, as traipsing up donkey paths and hills with large bottles of water and of course the necessary beer and ouzo would be no fun.
We were slightly unfortunate in the weather, as although it mostly remained dry, we had constant thunder and lightening for three days and nights going all round us, and could see rain falling on the distant mainland. This made it hard for us to do too much, as when it did drizzle the paths were quite treacharous. The one thing we wanted to do was hire a boat. But the local police and coastguards have the last say on whethers its safe for tourists to hire one, and every single day they decided it wasn't. We didn't want to hire a car. The local taxis were always there quickly and were reasonable. We went to the other harbours, and had lunch. I found them both although prettyish, not much character. On the third evening of the thunder it was our turn for the rain and did it fall. We then had to walk up our donkey track after our meal, with our torches, and negotiating all the little trunks sticking out of the earth, and trying not to slip and being a big scaredy cat that I am wondering if I would indeed make it up to the top with the thunder and lightening going all around. I did.
I think Paxos is very pretty and it is a shame we didn't see too much of it - all the beaches and coves that no one goes to. Maybe we should go back in the spring. There are lots of boat trips you can do when thr weather lets you. I have been to other Greek Islands Lesbos, and Kefalonia and I liked these much more.
i visited paxos with my parents back last year and i was expecting a really boring family holiday.
i really enjoyed myself and i shall be going back this year.
we travelled with paxos magic holidays and we stayed in a very nice appartment in lakka. lakka is a small village but it is very nice. there is also gaios which is more larger and busyer and loggos which is a fishing port.
there is lots to do such as hiring a boat for the day and visiting ... ...gorgeous beach that looked like a carabean isalnd.
little kids may find this holiday boring, but i suggest if you are older that it is a really nice place to stay.
you could always come from corfu and visit it for the day as it is a very nice place to go ...

Advantages: peaceful, relaxing, beautiful Disadvantages: can be expensive on all fronts
We travelled to Paxos last year and splashed out for the most expensive apartment in Lakka - a tiny little place at the very highest point overlooking the entire bay. Thoroughly amazing.
The boat transfer was fun - somewhere between thinking you're going to die in the next swell and balancing an ashtray on your lap you realise it must be like this often because the tourists are the only ones panicking.
Once we'd got over the view from our apartment ... ...very little traffic and no real way to get lost on such a small island. While there were few tourist children, they integrated with plenty of kids from the village and it seemed safe for them to run around by themselves all night, which would lead me to recommend the village for children.
Antipaxos is well worth a trip - crystal clear waters and white sands, but definitely cheapest to get a boat from Gaios and some will even take you to the blue ...
