My husband & I stayed for 2 nights in Kalzie suite in late sept/oct 09- is claimed by the hotel official website as 1 of the luxury room of the whole hotel, no espcial offer+cannot book from internet.- it was to celebrate my 30th birthday and to have a relaxing days out of the city.

The suite is located on ground floor, where near the swimming pool/ leisure club, dining room, which was handy for us.
There's a private corridor to get into the 2 suites, it is clean+tidy+pleasent, but the doors (with key card) are closed loudly, could even hear from inside the room, although there are not many people passing the corridor at all, so it was fine.

The living room in the suite....nice decor, big victorian window, nice view (no matter cloudy, misty/ sunny!), size isn't as big as I expected from the official website photos.
There's a nice modern fire place- didn't use it, cos it smells, don't know when was the last time it was being used.
Sofa and chairs are comfortable, and there's a bay window seats area, I like the idea, but not sure how clean the area is (looking dusty there), curtains can't be closed, so we only used the inner curtain linear.

Living room leading into bedroom by a portal (like some traditional museum type room to room). Again bedroom wasn't as big as I expected according to the website photos again, maybe the 4-post bed is abit too big for the room, but nice decor again, aubergine colour. There're an old style type TV on both bedroom+living room, and I would expect to have a nice type(at least flat type) TV in the newly furbrished suite (according to the official website again!), there're only some basic TV channels, BBC, no other sky to watch...abit disappointed... there were DVD machine+3 DVD, wasn't bad!
Bed is very comfortable, plenty of cushions and pillows, nice enough to have deep sleep/nap there! Other dressing table/ robes didn't use (again don't know how long they've been sitting there!)

The other room is bath room, spacious and clean (not totally clean though, could still see some dirt orange marks in sink/ shower wall gap+dust on heating rail, again I was expected to be very clean as it is 1 of the luxury suite in the whole hotel!)
Shower area is spacious, have 2 showers- 1 side is a normal shower, the other side is 'power' type shower, it wasn't too powerful, but at least I was happy to have warm/hot water! very comfortable. enough towels and heating rail was helpful for our swimming suits to dry everyday!!
Soap smells nice.

Generally, the room is comfortable and nice senery in the living room! But the room service/ cleanliness is just SO-SO...
We had our breakfast on both days, we had an orange sheet to tick what we wanted for breakfast:
1st morning, there was no grapfruit, I was so SURE that I ordered it, so we called the reception, the lady came with a bowl and said we didn't tick this item, but we DID! As a good service, she shouldn't have said anything even if the customer did something wrong, it wasn't professional at all (specially they claimed that it was a 4-star hotel in a suite!?)
We also didn't get a piece of fruit (that we didn't noticed it til the next morning breakfast!), it was mentioned on the order sheet was included with the breakfast!

2nd morning, we basically ordered the same breakfast, this time we had everything, even a piece of fruit (which was a mini maderin and was extremely sour and I think the hotel could just not bother to give to the customer, just save it to yourself! it was like a fruit that you picked from a wild tree that was not taste good at all!)
But the boiled eggs we had were not HARD, which was what we ordered!!!!
I was disappointed again with this simple service!

Dinner we chose to have it in the public dining room, we had to dress up, no jeans...very old style curtain and old (used cutlery).
The food was very happily nice!! I preferred our 1st night dinner menu choices than the 2nd night:
1st night, I had: starter: duck- delicious, soup:watercress soup- delicious+the dining rolls were the best! main course: ostrich steak, was good too! dessert was cheese/ buscuit(precisely 3 buscuits!), no coffee/ tea (too full and we don't drink them anyway!)

2nd night, I had: starter: lemon crap-ok, soup: butternut soup-ok+nice dining rolls again! main course: lemon cole- ok, but I preferred my husband's beef steaks, dessert: something with ice-cream- was ok too, again no coffe/ tea for us.
Diner service was good, I just thought when staff carry bowl of soups out to customer, would it be better to use a tray and it looks nicer & more professional?!

Basically, the dinning food was great!

Swimming pool/ jucuzzi was the place we used the most, quiet and nice big window view, swimming pool water was't too warm, but comfortable in the jucuzzi and v. quiet in the pool+changing room!! Happy with that!

Room cleanning wasn't too great:
When we 1st arrived, I noticed 2 big-shoe marks on the velvet nice chair in the living room, how could it happen!?

1st morning after breakfast, we asked for someone to clean/ move the trays away, when we got back to the room, I noticed the bread crumbs were 'sweeping' from the table to the velvet nice chair!!! WHAT? what a cleaning service! specially in a 4-star luxury suite(I have to keep mention that for the price+for the highly expected from the official website!) The bread crumbs were on the chair instead of actually cleaning it!

We used the game room for table tennis twice, the game room was in the basement, no fresh air and not really decorated well and everytime we need to use the room, we had to ask for the key+equippment, so we didn't bother to do it!

Generally, the hotel was fine, quite 70s, pretty from outside, spacious, well facilities equipped. Nice dinner menu! But BAD room service+ room cleaning!!
Nice to visit the hotel if you only go for leisure club (swimming) and if you're only there for dinner, it's great!

But not sure about staying there in the rooms...
