like others, I suggest you go for the cheap rooms with communal bathrooms.
Our accommodation with bathroom en suite was not worth the extra money as the shared facilities are better - we suffered the unpleasant smell of drains in the bedroom and, as the bath did not drain away, we couldn't use the shower.
When we pointed out to the manager that we had paid 25 euros extra per night for our own bathroom, that there was a problem with the drains and that the shower was unusable, the charm soon disappeared.
This is really a pity as we had enjoyed great hospitality all over Portugal
If you stick to the basic rooms and shared facilities, this pensao is a good deal - doesn't seem to me like it's worth paying any more and raising expectations.
*I have ticked that I wouldn't recommend this place because of the manager's attitude to our concerns with the room - guarding profits rather than seeking to address our concerns with the quality of the accommodation. I would rather direct friends to places where there is a genuine concern for customer service.
Have to agree with previous comment, hotel reviews need to have a lot more information than just the bare minimum. Also, not all members and the public read all reviews so it needs to be complete, regardless of repetition with what others have said or done.
