The accomodation

Upon checking in to the accomodation I was asked for my Passport, so they could check the details of the booking I had made under my own name. I guess they use this procedure against breakages and in case of theft, trouble etc. I have not known this to be a feature in accomodation in England. This company procedure did not bother me whatsoever.

I travelled alone to this accomodation, having booked a small room, however when I was shown my room I am sure it would have been suitable for two people. As I was staying in prague for two nights on a leisurely short city break, this did not particularly bother me too much regarding the standard of the facilities. When I was shown my room there were two single Bed's situated side-by-side. The Bed's to my eyes looked nineteen eightees style old fashioned beds. The mattress was nice and firm and supported my back which I found really good as I had went to prague and stayed at two Hostel's called 'oz' Apartment's and the Archie Hostel and found the beds to be rather poor. In comparison to my stays at these other places, this accomodation provided me with a pleasant surprise.

The Room was clean and simple. The room though advertised as 'small' seemed to me to be a fairly good sized bedroom. The ceilings were at least twelve feet or so high and fairly wide. The carpets were ordinary green coloured and clean and perfectly looked after. Nothing regarding the facilities or by service was particularly great, it was plenty clean enough and had a working power Shower System, a glass mirror, a clean toilet area. I was given a Bar of soap and a sachet of Shampoo, though I did bring my own. The rooms were basic though they did include a Television, and a Mini Bar area. Regarding the mini Bar was a fridge containing lager, Wine, peanuts, and some other Drink and Food snacks. The prices of these items were quite expensive by British standards. I think I was charged around thirty five czech koruna which is just over one British Pound just for a small Bottle of vittel Water. I had no real option except to buy a handful of small Bottle's from here as I knew the Water for drinking is not particularly good. The accomodation, unfortunately had no dining facilities other than the breakfast, so you will have to look to the vast array of Wining and Dining establishments in the town or a small nucleus of Food and Drink outlets near the accomodation. Privacy in this accomodation is excellent as like many other accomodations, the Room facilities are private as opposed to shared accommodation with strangers which is really poor. I also had a view of the accomodation Garden's which I found fairly basic though it did have a nice summer Day view with a nice Beer Drinking Table and some Pub style Seating.

Regarding the Service, I was given the keys to the Accomodation and room upon check-in and was shown my Room. I then was told about the breakfast facility they had in-house, and was told that the breakfast would be served during the hours of eight to ten a.m. I missed the breakfast upon my first day as I was eager to walk around the city at seven a.m and learn some of the roads in the local area as well find some historical places to see. On the second Day of my Trip I sat down at the accomodation's breakfast and there was a continental style breakfast Self Service System. Each visitor is designated a breakfast Table, by their own individual room number.

The contents of the breakfast included filtered Coffee, normal Tea, and Herbal Tea sachets. Food wise included a few rolls of Bread, sachets of Jam, plenty slices of processed Cheese and Ham. There were a number of different flavoured yoghurt pots available. Overall I was happy that this was there as it is included in the price of the stay, though I did not particularly find this type of breakfast to be very exciting in any shape or form. Also an extra facility was a Room Telephone, where I could call home, or businesses and people if needed. I did not know the price per minute Call charges, though I did ask at the Reception and they did not know the exact Call fees.

I did not feel disappointed that each day I was not given a new Towel or any room service as I already had a very clean area and felt no need to complain or ask for more. The only area of potential improvement was where I noticed some dusty areas was on a ledge heading towards the reception, though I can not complain. as paying the amount I did I feel is a small price to pay for a accomodation in a foreign place as good as prague is.

Price Detail's

I paid two thousand seven hundred czech koruna which is approximately one hundred and six euros or say seven five Pounds for two nights. This I feel is particularly good value especially for a three Star accomodation on a european Trip. I tried booking two Nights at the prague Hilton and was quoted four hundred and fifty euros for the same time. I was told if I checked in later than eight p.m that I would incur a small charge for making the staff wait extra time beyond their normal working Day.

Conclusion

Personally speaking my choice of accomodation was good as it was a Clean three Star accomodation. It provided me with the basic facilities with a clean and firm Bed and decent Room, to me it represented a reasonably priced stay in prague. My expectation's were more than met within my stay within the accomodation. I found it a slight hassle having to walk four meters to and from the Namesti Miru Metro Station though I can find not fault the accomodation itself. There was no daily cleaning service provided so it can attract some criticism, though when coming to prague the last thing anyone would do is to stay more than half an hour during the Day time other than perhaps to have a Shower and change clothes. After I had done these little things off I would dissapear and soon myself inside the main town itself.

This accomodation is highly recommended. I was also offered a negotiable small Discount on my next visit which I will have no hesitation to take up.

Further Information

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in prague from my previous recent visits to this town I had noticed a big difference in the exchange rate from forty czech koruna's to one Pound to around thirty czech koruna to one Pound. So this place is slowly catching up being a relatively new member of the E.U. Though still from a travel journey it still represents a excellent few Days away from home.
