The town is well connected by public transport with regular train services to London Paddington. There is also a major bus station nearby with buses to Truro, St Ives, Falmouth, Helston, Hayle, St Just, Lands End and Mousehole.
There is also a passenger ferry connecting the Isles of Scilly to the mainland, as well as a Penzance-Isles of Scilly helicopter sevrvice operating from the nearby heliport.
Advantages: great views, kids will love the causeway Disadvantages: have to get a boat at high tide
- they even do a special family ticket. If you can visit at low tide its a lot more entertaining as you are able to walk along the causeway out to the mount which is an experience in itself, be careful though and wear sensible shoes because the rocks can be very slippery. There are great views of the Penzance coastline from the top of the mount, approximately 230ft above sea level, offering great photo opportunities.
It's a great tourist attraction for the whole family.

Advantages: spectacular backdrop of the sea, very cheap Disadvantages: performances only of an evening
appropriately because there is not shelter from the rain whatsoever, although inexpensive rain macs can be purchased.
Although we didn't actually see a live performance because we had other things to do in the evenings it is something which I will definitely do in the future. Visiting the theatre during the daytime was good and there was a lot to see, but you just get the sense that the place really comes alive during the evening when the performances are on. It's quite easy to find too and there is a car park for day visitors and theatre goers.

Advantages: EVERYTHING..a beautiful holiday spot you will want to revisit time and time again! Disadvantages: too many stag and hen do's!
reasonably priced and the owners are really helpful! There are lots of nice restaurants with a lot of variety, my favourite would be Senor Dicks on the High Street (next to Bertie's Nightclub) which is a Mexican. Jamie Oliver has a 15 restaurant just down the road at Watergate Bay which is a must see as it is a beautiful beach with stunning views. There are lots of places to visit in the Newquay area such as Padstow, St Austell, The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Helligan and much more. Further South of Cornwall there is also Polperro, Land's End, Penzance and St Ives which are all worth a visit! The bars and nightclubs in Newquay are all very reasonable and boast a lot of drinks promotions and events. It does get very busy however so there can be queues for entry and drinks and the town centre gets very busy. I recommend going out on a Monday ...
