Penzance is the primary town of West Corwall (Penwith) and is popular with locals and tourists alike. It boasts a shopping centre, leisure centre, and close proximity to many beaches such as Long Rock and Marazion.
Close by is the popular destination St Michael's Mount, and Lands End. It is the ideal place to stay during a holiday in Cornwall. Penzance also has the only seafront promenade in Cornwall, there are many things to see and do in this town. Why not go and see a show at the Acorn Theatre, or take a swim in the Jubilee Pool, a 1930s outdoor swimming pool? There is a cinema, perfect for a rainy day, and plenty of places for a nice walk on a clear day.
Due to its extreme south-westerly position, Penzance often has some of the best weather in the UK.
The town is well connected by public transport with regular train services to London Paddington. There is also a major bus station nearby with buses to Truro, St Ives, Falmouth, Helston, Hayle, St Just, Lands End and Mousehole.
There is also a passenger ferry connecting the Isles of Scilly to the mainland, as well as a Penzance-Isles of Scilly helicopter sevrvice operating from the nearby heliport.
