Great Hostel - Get what you pay for!
Advantages: Great, Clean Friendly Hostel Disadvantages: More Expensive
Perth City YHA
Perth City YHA is in a great location, walking distance from the main shopping area and bars and restaurants. Railway and Bus services are close by. Rooms: Dorm rooms are available from 4 – 10 Bed, we opted for a 4 bed dorm room so that we could all stay together, and the room was a good size with two bunk beds. All linen is provided, lockers are available for use in the rooms but you will need your own padlock. The hostel had an ... ...we had no idea about Perth and they took the time to tell us about the free buses around the town and the top things to do. Rates: The YHA is not a cheap hostel but I have to say you do get what you pay for. If you want guaranteed nice accommodation then it is worth paying an extra $5 a night. 4 Bed Dorms: $29 - $36
If you are planning on doing a lot of travel around Australia then it is worth buying a YHA Discount card, for a years membership it ...

Great location - Travelodge Hotel Perth, W.A.
Advantages: Great location, clean and comfortable Disadvantages: some dangerous corners in the room and no bedside table or light on my side
Perth Travelodge, Hay Street LOCATION: This is a 3 star hotel in the centre of Perth with 123 rooms (some of these are inter connecting for families) within walking distance of the Swan River or the Northridge shopping area with loads of restaurants and clubs. It is on Hay Street .The reception area is small with a couple of tables and some comfortable chairs, it certainly was not luxurious but served the purpose, The staff at the desk were extremely ... ...transport or things to do etc. The restaurant opened out from this area. RESTAURANT: The hotel itself has its own restaurant called ‘Armada’ with a bar which was partly inside and partly outside with umbrellas. It looked quite nice. Food was on a par with European prices; fish and chips (red snapper) with fresh salad was $19 Aus, Beef rending (Indonesian curry) served with rice and Achar was $20 Aus. We did not eat in the restaurant at all so I can’t ...

Ideal for a quick nap after long flight.
Advantages: nice and clean. Disadvantages: further than i thought.
After flying from Heathrow to Singapore to Perth, with a delay at Singapore, this hotel was exactly what i needed. I got hold of them from the airport wall phone, and one of their staff picked me up straight away (10mins) in a minibus, the hotel was further away than I thought, but the price $99 (jan04) was very good for the sleep that i needed. the staff upon arriving could not do enough for me, and i was given a spacious double room with air-con, ... ...a very comfortable sleep, i enjoyed a Fish and Chip meal which was very nice, and although i cannot remember the price, I remember it seemed like a bargain at the time. later that day i was taken back to the airport where i continued on my way to Sydney. (after another delay 2-3 hours), so it was a good job i got my kip!!) so I spent around 11 hours total in this hotel. I recommend you stay here if you need a short stop off en-route. ...

Mounts Bay Waters Apartments..A 5* experience!
Advantages: Very close to Perth city, stunning views, ultra modern...... Disadvantages: Room service got you up far too early!
...them quite easily. The Mounts bay waters apartments are situated on Mounts Bay road which is adjacent to two of Perths greatest attractions - the Swan River and Kings Park and is also just a few minutes stroll to the Perth central business district and also (more importantly if you like retail therapy) the shops!
Mounts Bay Waters apartments - also known as Mounts bay village, comprises of a number of buildings which house both hotel guests and ... ...entrances into the village off Mounts Bay road, it doesn't really matter which one you enter or exit from as the road just does a "U" through the village and back onto the main road.
Once inside, the road is fully block paved and very beautifully lined with trees, and as it runs in front of the apartment buildings it gives it much more of a courtyard feel. There are also parking bays which are generally used for visitors but which are easy to nip ...

Mounts Bay Water Apartment
Advantages: easy to walk into town centre from here/beautiful views/very clean Disadvantages: very small pool/sound of traffic most of time.
We stayed here for a week and found it an excellent place to be as we had never been to Perth before and it was so easy to either walk into the city (10-15 minutes) or hop on a free bus outside. The views from the apartments over the river and local parks and are beautiful. The staff were very helpful and kind and the rooms were well appointed and equipped as well as spotlessly clean. There is a restuarant on site and a few other places nearby but ... ...it that it is easy to eat anywhere and have a drink then walk back to apartment. It was nice having your own apartment but also having the luxury of a hotel reception. There are two pools on site but they are very small and in fact one did not catch the sun for very long but then we were there to sight see so it did not matter. ...
