The Petro Palace is a new 4* hotel in St Petersburg, Russia. Opened in 2005, the hotel occupies a renovated historic Staal's building located in the centre of the city. It has a total of 193 rooms, a combination of single, double and twins rooms and suites.
We discovered the Petro Palace on recommendation from our travel agent and stayed for 4 nights mid May 06.
Location
The Petro Palace hotel is located halfway along Malaya Morskaya Ulitsa which runs off the main thoroughfare Nevsky Prospect. An excellent local landmark is the beautiful Admiralty building which is just over the road and the hotel is also a stone's throw from St Isaac's Cathedral and the Astoria Hotel. The nearest metro station is Nevsky Prospect, although this is a good 20 minute walk away, but buses run right past the hotel.
Location wise, the Petro Palace ...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Hotel Letsos in Alykanas, Zante in August/September 2008 after booking thtough Olympic Holidays. We'd read a lot of mixed reviews so we didnt really know what to expect!
I'm not sure how much the hotel cost on its own, but we paid around £400 each for flights and accommodation for 2 weeks. Depending on what your looking for, we found it to be OK for us.
The hotel is about an hour away from the airport if you're taking a coach transfer, so it will be considerably less by taxi. After dropping everyone off, I was hoping and praying that our hotel would be nice and from the outside it looked lovely. Like all the hotels in Zante, the pool was at the front, and it's actually quite big. The entrance is marble floored and well lit. The reception area is also marble floored, i think it must have been ...
Advantages: Good standard/near the beach Disadvantages: pool beds reserved at early times
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the first time this year.We visited for 2 weeks in June. This was our 7th visit to the resort so we knew about this hotel having seen it being built. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but other deals are available.
First impressions always count and on arrival at the hotel [3 hrs late] we were greeted by a cheerful member of staff even though it was 10 at night.
The room itself was on the bottom floor [we'd asked for an upper floor] but we could see the sea if we stood up.[sea view paid for]
The restaurant was only 2 minutes walk from our room and a lift was available if so required.
First impression of the restaurant was ok and all through our stay we had no reason to complain. Our friends and others however had a run in with a grumpy chef at the evening meals on more than one occasion ...
