I am married with three children. I love horses and have a couple for myself and youngest daughter. I also love travelling. I particularly love North America and my family and I try to have a holiday there every other year.

We recently enjoyed a five hour stopover at Philadelphia Airport on our way to Las Vegas. We had dabbled with the idea of getting a cab into Philly and seeing as much as we could in the limited time available but as we had to clear passport control and then tote our baggage through the airport to check it onto the connecting flight we decided against it.
The clearance through passport control was slick and well organised and although the airport is absolutely huge it is easy to navigate with plenty of signs and helpful staff. There are even little taxis which drive through the airport corridors at about 5 miles per hour to carry fat lazy people. They also have these funky rocking chairs for you to rock while you people watch.
So now we had about four hours to kill. We started with a meal at TGIF. Very nice and cheaper than UK. Then we mooched around the shops, and there are plenty to go at. Our children particularly love the Discovery Channel Shop and staff are friendly even though the kids are mauling everything and it was becoming obvious that we where looking and not buying. We bought a little Liberty Bell from one of the other shops. This is the favourite souvenier at Philidelphia Airport.
Later we sat at a table for a coffee and to do some serious people watching. I noticed a very tasty looking morsel being served called a "Caeser Salad Chicken Roller" I made a mental not to try one on our return journey, and I did, delicious!! Don't miss trying one of them.
What we thought would be a boring stopover in an already horrendously long journey turned out to be a refreshing break. The Airport is lively and buzzing with plenty to amuse the weary traveller.

Good review. I have been there once and thought it was one of the best airports that I have used.

Are you sure you promised yourself NOT to try a ceaser salad¿ Lol, nice op, even though it seems quite small, but I think it's hard to write about airports - CW666
