Filipino Paradise

Advantages: Perfect white sandy beaches, good variety of accommodation, restaurants and bars
Disadvantages: A bit over-developed in places

Boracay is known as The Philippines' most beautiful island and regularly features in top ten lists for 'The best beaches in the world'. Being so highly rated, I decided I had to visit it in June 2008, to decide for myself if it really is that good. Getting there In order to get to Boracay, you have to fly from Manila to either Caticlan or Kalibo. There are many flights every day to both airports with various different airlines. The cheapest ...
...I flew with Asian Spirit and the short 1 hour flight was fine with them. From Caticlan, you take one of the many small boats across to Boracay and there is a new jetty on the south of the island now to make things easier (before this was built you had to climb out of the boats directly on to the beaches). If you fly to Kalibo then you have to to travel by road for a couple of hours to Caticlan so it is preferable to pay a bit extra and fly to Caticlan ...

Cultures, a country that is so different.

Advantages: The people are one of the friendliest in the world
Disadvantages: The long flight to get their 16-20 hours from London

On first arrival in the Philippines. You will most likely enter via NAIA, Ninoy Aquino International Airport, (Manila international airport). The first thing that you will notice is there is a group of three men with instruments welcoming you. Not suprising considering that music and singing is so much the part of filipino life. The customs area can be very busy at times, but is always in constant movement, it may take about an hour to get through ...
...The filipinos make it easy for people to get around and find your destination with ease, as there are so many staff waitng to help you. nothing is to much for them, they will do all they can to help you. Just make sure that you approch someone that is wearing a name badge and who works at the airport. if you know where you are going to you can get a taxi to your destination for a fixed rate. these are a lot higher than normal, but it means that ...

The PHILIPPINES

Advantages: more people from other countries like to visit!
Disadvantages: crisis, lack of food

I've been living in the Philippines almost 25 years and this is really good country for me!!! Why? In this place, it's not so cold there in the Philippines.. The climate is not bad. However, if a month goes to December! I'll tell you that it's cold there in the Philippines and I really feel it.. Summer month are March until June... When July comes until November, the climate is good... January have a bit cold and February..So much for that! You know ...
...really good to see. There are many foreigner people or other people coming from any places like to visit in the Philippines, Yes, indeed! they really like Philippines but if they don't have business there in the Philippines, maybe their money will not grow more.. you know , many businessman like to have a business in the Philippines because they can really gain here and people here are almost extravagant.. hahahah.. And I'm one of them.! People in ...

BAGONGBANUA - A jewel in the Cebu Strait

Advantages: Unspoiled island - private property
Disadvantages: None

14 nautical miles (26 kilometers) south of Cebu City, 13 miles (24 kilometers) across the Cebu Strait east of Carcar Bay and 7 miles (13 kilometers) northwest of Tubigon in Bohol, lies a five-hectare islet - 123° 55' East and 10° 20' North, known to navigators for its light house: Bagonbanua Island. This exceptional islet belongs to the group of 61 islands and islets in front of Bohol's nerthwest and northern coast. Bagongbanua is a private property, ...
...islet is a village, home to around 80 or 100 families, with a population of 500 to 600. Water is available from a spring, but one has to boil it before drinking. Buko juice - fresh from the numerous coco palms - is an excellent refreshment. Bagongbanua, meaning "new town", is a barangay belonging to the town of Tubigon, in the province of Bohol. It has a chapel, an elementary school, and a generator for electricity. Offshore fishing is the main ...

Bohol Island of Chocolate Hills

Advantages: Easy to tour the Island in One Day
Disadvantages: Not really recommended for Children

The easiest way to view Bohol Island is to hire an Air Conditioning L500 Taxi, which includes the driver and a full tank of fuel. The prices ranges from two thousand to three thousand pesos per vehicle, and can seat up to eight passengers. You will find these available mainly from ports of seacrafts arriving from other Island in the Philippines. Our experience started from Ubay around eleven o'clock in the morning, arriving from Bato in Leyte on ...
...an L500 Air Conditioning Hyundia People's Carrier. There are plenty of Pantalon Pier restaurants to choose from of Filipino cuisines and are very reasonable in prices. We had two plates of fried chicken and two large plates of rice for about seventy pesos between four adults and two children. The children ages of my daughter was three and a half years old and my son only three months old, so the food was plenty to fill us up for the journey around ...
