The hotel stood out on this quiet street as we arrived at 9pm and there was no one walking the streets and only one building as lit up - this was the phoenix.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city centre and of course a local metro stop which connects directly to the local airport. We made the short journey and located the street that the hostel was on easily. The hotel stood out on this quiet street as we arrived at 9pm and there was no one walking the streets and only one building as lit up - this was the phoenix.
The hotel entrance is grand with a water feature in the middle of reception and its have loads of old paintings hanging on the walls. we were greeted on reception by an extremely helpful guy who spoke fluent English. We were shown to our room. My only criticism is probably the size of the room as we two of us sharing we barely had room to fit all of our bags and be able to walk round the bed. The room was fitted with a reasonable sized tv which had around 15 channels and a couple of ones which were in English (although we preferred to watch the Eurovision dancing contest hoping that the Danish voice over would sound as funny as Mr Wogan). The room was also ensuite and had a nicely sized bath in the bathroom which after only having showers for a month was luxury in itself. The room also had a reasonably priced minibar. The bed in the room was extremely comfy and is equipped with 2 single duvets,a bit like sleeping sacks which was quite novel at the time but turns out to be common place in the area. Also there wasn't tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was a bit disappointing
Breakfast was included in the price of the room and we more then stocked up on bacon, sausage and scrambled while also enjoying the plentiful supply of fruit juice, danish pastries and cereals. within the hotel is a bar and a restaurant which are both reasonably priced for Copenhagen but fall outside our budget.
The hotel has free internet access as well which is vitally important for our travels plans. Overall an extremely good hotel which oozes class and is worthy of its 4 star status, which we were able to afford by booking early via the companys website (http://www.phoenixcopenhagen.com/) and was an enjoyable part of our trip.
Phoenix Copenhagen Hotel is just a short walk from all the favourtite sights of Copenhagen. The famous NyHaven, with its collection of picturesque bars and restuarants is just metres from the hotel, as is the National Theatre and attractive buildings of Christiansborg. All of the guest rooms are elegantly furnished, and were refurbished in 2002. These rooms have a full range and modern conveniences, which one would expect from a hotel of this class. The hotel also boasts an a la carte restaurant serving mouthwatering local and international dishes in their own \\\'English Style\\\' bar, a great place to relax at the end of the day.
