Beach Life
Review of Phuket (Thailand) by hebawom

Advantages: Couldn't ask for a better holiday
Disadvantages: Brothels, strip bars, prostitutes

...saying that I stayed in Phuket in October 2003 before the tsunami hit. So, it may not be the tropical paradise that it was when I was there. However, I'm sure much of the information below will still be of great use to those planning to go to this region. Me and my best friend Nathan had worked in an orphanage for a month (see previous review), then had travelled to Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos for the month following and we were ...
...shop (there is one in Phuket Town Centre) and buy yourself a snorkel and mask. I can't tell you hours of fun we had with these. Once we had bought them we went snorkelling every day. The water is very clear and there are lots of crabs and fish in the gloriously warm water. DANGER! One day we went down to the beach to do a couple of hours of snorkelling, however, it was really, really windy and all the bottom of the sea bed was churned up and you ... Read review

Full Moon, Half Moon.... Fuuuull Moon Party & More
Review of Ko Pha Ngan (Thailand) by SophieWehr

Advantages: Full Moon, amazing sunrise, beach, relaxing times
Disadvantages: Not much to do, the aftermath of the party

Yet again, I’m back with more gushing reviews of what I consider to be one of the most beautiful countries I have ever seen. Thailand was by far my overall favourite country in South East Asia, combining lovely people, excellent food, fantastic places, peaceful religious beliefs and a wonderful way of life that we westerners can only aspire to. Last year we took a break from work and the UK weather to languish on sunny beaches, climb volcanoes, eat ...
...well and relax – and experienced all of these. The reviews I have written around SEA are all from January – May which we found was an excellent time to travel there. WHY VISIT KHO PHA NGAN? Undoubtedly one of the main reasons people come to this island is the world-renowned ‘Full Moon’ Party, and this was certainly why we came here. We just wanted to see what it was all about as people kept raving about it (pun intended) - we enjoyed the experience ... Read review

lovely island shame about the westeners
Review of Ko Samui (Thailand) by daleyboy

Advantages: Beautiful beaches
Disadvantages: to many westeners

Here we go again with another review of Thailand. Samui is in the south of the country on the east coast on the Gulf of Thailand. If you want a map, message me and i will let you have the link as i am not allowed to post in this message I went to Samui last year with my sister and my Thai wife. We booked into a levely resort hotel called sand sea resort. 30 Quid a night for a room with a four poster bed cable tv and a bath that took five hours ...
...have got 8 people in there no problem. We were on the beach in Llamii (think that is spelt correctly) The usual as far as food is concerned with Thailand (see my previous posts) the only difference being that everything is slightly more expensive because you are on an Island. There are several routes to the island, the one we choose was to fly purely because we were on a tight timescale. The flights cost about 60 pounds return, booked through ... Read review

The Land of Smiles
Review of Hua Hin (Thailand) by TheWizardsSleeve

Advantages: relatively undiscovered when compared to Phuket & Koh Samui
Disadvantages: long journey from Bangkok

...a ten night holiday to Hua Hin, staying at the Anantara Resort & Spa (http://huahin.anantara.com/default.aspx). Flights were via Emirates from Manchester to Dubai then on to Bangkok. We were then picked up in Bangkok via mini bus for the journey down to Hua Hin. Cost was £795 each for flight, ten nights accomodation and airport transfers. I must confess that I had never heard of Hua Hin at the time but the brochure promised a largely un-spoilt but ...
...not?” History of Hua Hin A little bit of history on Hua Hin would not go amiss at this stage. This has been a famous, popular holiday resort for over 70 years, largely for the Thai royal family and also with other Thais. It has been around as a destination well before the likes of Phuket or Koh Samui, both of which are recent discoveries with have grown rapidly and been over-developed. As such it seems to be off the radar of the backpackers and ... Read review

Lazy days at Ao Nang
Review of Krabi (Thailand) by gard

Advantages: Beautiful scenery, good food
Disadvantages: Can be wet in the wet season

...taken on our trip to Krabi (Ao Nang). Read more about our stay in Bangkok and Hua Hin in seperate review. If you have any questions or comments please get in touch on gardkarlsen@hotmail.com. Summary This is a travelogue that will give information about the trip that my wife, Nikki, and I had to Thailand in the periode from 11th of September until the 28th of September. On our trip we first spent a few days in Bangkok before we flew down to Ao Nang ...
...to Krabi: Going to Krabi On Monday 16th we went to Krabi. We had already booked tickets at home and the price is about 70 € per person one-way. Travelling from one place to another in the middle of the day automatically reduces your day to basically nothing. So I prefer going early in the morning or late at night. Our flight was about 4 p.m. Anyway; we had three options of going to the airport. 1: Hotel “limousine” was 700 bath which is too expensive. ... Read review
