Phuket Hotels

Advantages: facilities, price, staff, size of pools, private beach
Disadvantages: location for some - but you would know this before booking anyway?!

When i stayed at the merlin beach hotel i stayed in a deluxe room type which was lovely and we paid £45 per person per night for the room which was already based on a breakfast basis. Normally i wouldn't say to do this in thailand unless the hotel rates already include breakfast but, on this occasion it works well as the hotel breakfast was very nice and also the hotel is a set on its own so it';s nice to actually eat instead of having to make your ...
...and easily. Restaurants: The merlin beach hotel has a variety of restaurants to suit a good range of tastes. Amazingly we only ate in one of the evening ones as most nights we did go into patong. It's always much cheaper to eat outside of hotels but what you should remember is that if you if do eat in the hotel restaurant, it's still normally a good price even with the upmarket hotels compared to eating in the equivalent in the uk. ...was the size of the Hilton Arcadia complex. The transfer from the airport to the hotel was made by a pre-arranged mini-van that took us to the Hilton front-door, where an electric kart took us up to the main lobby. Facilities wise it has two main swimming pools, one in the court yard, as well as one that is located on an elevation across the beach. ...in Sanya, Hainan, China, this Hilton actually offers peace of mind and not that much mass market tourism. Price wise, I think a garden view deluxe room is quite sufficient, since you will likely be spending a lot of time at the swimming pool or near the beach anyway. ...had the best beach! The Kata Beach Resort was lovely! The bungalows were really nice and all spread out on a hill, which meant you weren't disturbed by the noises from the resort. There weren't really many sea views, but you were surrounded by lovely, lush gardens, which made me feel like I was in the Jungle! The accommodation itself was quite standard. ...early evening. The whole of Kata Beach Resort, is very wheelchair unfriendly however, because you have to climb stairs and walk up the hill to get to any of the bungalows! The showers are all heated by solar power, so if you go in August (Thai rainy season) like I did, there is quite a lot of cloud... and so the water doesn't really heat up!
