*~* Piccolos is located in the south lanes (56 Ship street to be exact). Near the restaurant bit in brighton and the seafont, easily accessible from brighton station. It has two floors, but gets very busy, as do all Brightons restaurants, so its worth booking. Downstairs ... ...the parties. They say parties are welcome, and have many Hen nights, and others there.
*~* I went there once for a surprise birthday party, so we were seated upstairs. However, i have sat downstairs many-a-time, and i maintain that the service is better down there. We had waitors, who got a bit arsey with us...im not saying i blame them, it must be very stressful. one David beckham lookilikey got a bit pissed off with us, we were in ... more

We had waitors, who got a bit arsey with us...im not saying i blame them, it must be very stressful. one David beckham lookilikey got a bit pissed off with us, we were in a big group, and they squashed us into a little table on the corner.
*~* However, downstairs is much nicer. Its a small building, so is a bit of a squeeze!
*~* The food its very affordable. Its cheaper than Donetellos (its rival restaurant), and of the same standard. A pizza would set you back about a fiver. The restaurant is fully licensed, selling italian beer also.
*~* I reccomend the puddings! mmmm yum. I havent tried the pasta dishes there, as i always order pizza, but i can vouch for the fact that the pizzas are lovely. They do set menus of 3 courses too, which works out to be about £10 each.
*~* I reccomend this restaurant, because of the very good value. I do stress that you better book unless you want to wait though!
Advantages: Good food at low prices Disadvantages: Can get crowded and noisy
Felt I must write about this restaurant, as there are so many overpriced, poor food, poor service places in Brighton. This is an unpretentious fun place to visit - the pizzas and pastas are very tasty, and some of their specials are scrumptious and still very reasonably priced.
The previous review mentions Donatello's which I very much don't like (although a lot of people do). I've found that any visit I've made, as I like to give a place more than ... ...been like going to an Italian Harvester, and I don't like Harvesters. The prices have increased and I don't think the food or value for money matches the quality of Piccolo at all.
My husband rates the steak (and he's incredibly picky) and I've enjoyed their crab pasta with white wine, cream and celery sauce, which was very light in texture and flavour. Also, they offer a fillet of butterfish, something I've not seen elsewhere. This was beautifully ...
