The Pig and Whistle is located in the centre of town, in what is known as the Bigg Market( the young, mad part of town). The pub is very young and extremely loud (gosh,im getting old!) The clientele varies from your underage drinkers to groups on a night out. The pub is not a classy place though and there are no seats available, everyone just stands about and dances. The pub is great for the music if thats what your into, but thats about it. The pub is open plan with wooden flors with a bar at one end and the dj booth at the other. There are always long queues at the bar and it takes forever to get served, especially at the weekend. There are only one set of toilets available and they are always flooded, with doors hanging off, no toilet paper etc. Im not a fan of this pub, maybe when i was younger but definitley not now. The doormen seem to let all sorts in, and ive been put off by the clientele in there on occassions. Like i said, if youre already drunk or into the dance music then youll love it, but ifyou prefer somwhere a little more upmarket then avoid at all costs. However, if you want something more upmarket then you shouldnt be drinking in the Bigg Market anyway.

can't stand the Bigg market (even when I was younger), much prefer either the Quayside or Haymarket areas, haven't been in the Pig and Whistle for years, so obviously it hasn't improved, Susan xx
