Advantages: A warming, pleasant atmosphere with spotless rooms and good service Disadvantages: Decor not particularly modern
I currently live in Stourport on Severn in the heart of Worcestershire and recently had some distant relatives come to visit for the weekend and we needed somewhere for them to stay as our house just wasn?t big enough to accommodate the whole family. In the end we decided to book a couple of rooms at the Oakleigh GuestHouse as I had heard good reviews on the place from friends.
~Location~
Oakleigh GuestHouse is situated right in the heart of Stourport on Severn town centre so is in a perfect location to access all the local amenities. However it is situated far enough away from the main High Street so that you don?t get the noise from the pubs on a Friday and Saturday Night.

Fathers Guesthouse has the perfect location on a small hill overlooking the tiny town of Tanah Rata in the Cameron highlands. Situated outside the town, but only a 3 minute walk into it, it has fantastic views and is tranquil but still has access to any activities the town has to offer.
If you call the owners in advance letting them known when you will arrive then they will collect you from the town and save the walk up the hill with heavy bags. They also tend to be one of the touts who wander the bus drop off area and so if you arrive by bus then there is almost always someone there who you can ask to get a lift up the hill.
Driving up towards the guesthouse the first thing that is obvious is that this is a beautiful area. The views from the top go right across the town and amongst the rolling hills of the area. The Cameron highlands ...
Advantages: Amazing Architecture, Great Silver Stuff and Artifacts, Excellent Cultural Heritage, Hospitable People, Great Food Disadvantages: Pathetic Traffic, Pollution and Crowd in the Old City, Watch out for a rare Stray Buffalo
and Really cold in winter, so please take necessary precautions in terms of clothing and sun protection lotions.
On reaching Jaipur, surprise surprise, I found that not much had changed in the old city. It was as pink as crowded and as fascinating as ever. I almost banged my car into a stray buffalo on the raod. Thank god, my driving skills and wife's sudden outcray prevented the calamity. The new areas of Jaipur however, have come up amazingly well. If it is comforting, that's where all the Great Hotels and Havelis of Jaipur are. Jaipur has been on a fast track and it still is ... if you overlook stray buffalos. To quote an example, GE Capital opened their center in Jaipur a couple of years back. A friend also told me that the overseas visitors to Jaipur have increased by almost five times in last three years. Since my friend is not a statictics ...
