Advantages: Fantastic location
Disadvantages: In need of refurbishment

...in Pisa, we chose the Grand Hotel Doumo. Why? Well, if you're looking for a hotel which is ideally located for all that Pisa has to offer, you'd be hard placed to find a more suitable one. It's literally a few steps from the famous tower and in fact, many of the rooms have a magnificent view of the tower and Doumo (hence the name). that explains the Doumo part of the name...you could hardly be more accurate. ...hotel may indeed have been grand once upon a time (possibly around the time the builders had forgotten their plumb line and were erecting said tower with all haste), but it sure ain't now. Advantages: Good price, Near to Pisa attractions
Disadvantages: No tea / coffee facilities in rooms

The hotel rooms are clean, tidy, fairly spacious and well furnished. All rooms have adequate heating and air conditioning. The were only two slight negative points, one being a lack of tea / coffee facilities in the rooms and the other being some of the bathrooms would benefit from being updated. Alternatively the LAM Rosa bus stops outside the airport and will take you to the railway station (less than 2 min walk from the hotel) for 0.85€ (tickets available from the airport information desk). Disadvantages: 15-20 mins walk to Pisa tower, 5 mins walk to shopping street

I chose this hotel for a short stay in Pisa after some days in Milano. The purpose of staying in Pisa was to take advantage of the Ryanair prices. Arriving by train from Milano it was a relief to walk out of the station and see the hotel just across the road. The bus to the airport also leaves from that same location and takes just over 5 minutes to get to the airport. Walking into the hotel it felt every bit like a 4 star hotel. Nice lobby, clean ...
...plaza where the train station is, quite a nice view even though the balcony is very small. The room was quite spacious with adequate storage facilities, a good television system equipped with the ability to browse Internet on the Tv. As always pay per view options were also available. Advantages: reasonably priced for a four star hotel!
Disadvantages: Location, far out from the centre of Pisa

We stayed in this hotel in February 06 when visiting Pisa The main drawback, it has to be said straight away, is the location. It's about 10 minutes by bus outside the main town of Pisa. There is a bus which stops right outside the hotel about every 15 minutes and tickets can be bought from the reception desk, so this did not put us off and didn't cause any problems for us while we were there. ...Pisa. This four star hotel has 55 double rooms, and 2 junior suites. 2 of the double rooms have disabled facilities. The rooms are large and ours had a double bed, large desk, satellite television, mini bar (which was very reasonably priced!!), large bathroom which is well lit, wardrobe, easy chair. The room was clean and had laminate flooring throughout, it was extremely comfortable and seemed to have about 6 different methods and settings of lighting ... Read review

...and stayed here at the Grand Hotel Duomo. It was great value for money, we got the third night free so ended up paying £140 for three nights which was well worth it. Arrived at the hotel and the initial impressions were good. Nice hotel front, good location, clean and modern reception area. Bearing in mind we were there out of season, the staff on the reception desk were flawless. We spoke no Italian and they spoke to us in English and gave us maps ...
...and good bars/restaurants. Our room was on the 1st floor and didn't have a great view. We looked out onto a flat roof and then the back of another building. But seeing as we were out most of the day and only were in our room to get ready and sleep it wasn't a big issue. The room came with a safe that you personalise the lock code so our things were safe.
