Advantages: tasty food, central location, good mocktails Disadvantages: ricy, imagine it could get busy at peaktimes, unreadable bar pumps
...selling overpriced lager. Pitcher and Piano is a chain of 27 bars. There is one in Manchester on Lower Mosley Street but I have never been in it and actually am not sure I have ever seen it (even though I worked around there for three moths). Thus my first experience of a Pitcher and Piano was a couple of weekends ago as the Trafalgar Square branch was the location for the wonderful Ciao Meet organised by Lizkempo. The location of this bar is perfect. ... ...sure. I liked the Pitcher and Piano for a Saturday afternoon drink at an organised event like the meet however I am not sure how much I would like it in a peak period on a weekend night. I imagine it would be very loud, crowded and smoky. The range of drinks available at the bar is fairly good but it seems to cater for a younger trendier clientele. There was a wide range of bottled lagers and beers as well as a smaller selection of draughts. The ...

Advantages: Central and quite handy if you live/work nearby Disadvantages: Too noisy and you may feel out-of-place if you're not in a suit
The P&P that I'm reviewing is the one that's on Bishopsgate, near to Liverpool Street Stationm, along from the KFC and Tesco's.
Although Rio Ferdinand, the ex-West Ham defender, has been known to frequent this particular P&P, it's hard to see why really. This is not really a place you want to hang around, with the clientelle being almost entirely suited bods that are waiting for a train home, or 'hanger-ons' that are trying to pull a secretary.
... ...this should be one of your first ports of call, but if you just want a quiet drink with your mates after work or before a night out then I'd advise to steer well clear.
The decor (in an attempt to make the place look classy I suppose)is deadly dull glossy wood in a very 'All Bar One' sort of way. However, where All Bar One succeeds, The P&P fails. Rather than having a buzzing, 'comfortable' atmosphere, here you have to really strain to hear what ...

God awful dump Review ofPitcher & Piano (London)by
Gervase
Advantages: Central Disadvantages: No character, packed out with mediocre scum
I have been here too many times simply because it is central and everyone knows where it is, but what a cruddy souless place!
Friday and Saturday nights it's packed out with the most mediocre up their asses bunch of suited twats you can find in London. Typical conversation, if you could hear anyone over the din, would be braying over salaries and the very latest in mobile phones. Decor is dull dull wood. There is waitress service, which is great, ... ...in London.
It isn't really all that bad - I'm just bitter because I have never had a good night there - but there are so many quality places to go within 2 minutes of Dean Street that it makes me feel sick how many people settle for this 3rd rate shallow watering spot. ...

Advantages: Great atmosphere, spacious, well decorated. Disadvantages:
The Pitcher and Piano bar in Dean Street, is one of the best bars in London's West-end. It's very spacious and elaborately furnished with attractive tables and seating and hard wooden floor. It's decorated in trendy shades of terracotta. On a Friday this place starts to get busy from about 16:30. Many people who work in the City come here straight from work. There's a great selection of beers, and also my favourite "Star" lager - imported from the ...

Advantages: Various Disadvantages: Odd looking bouncers
What can I say. The music was jamming, the atmosphere was superb, and the ladies were plentiful. This is what I recollect of the p&p on Upper Street, N1. After showing my fraudulent I.D. card, I entered with my two mates. Of course, we were clearly the youngest people there. Anyway, due to severe lack of money, I just dumped myself down on one of the sofas infront of a table. Behind us was a smal ledge, onto which my friends decided to hop up and ... ...joined them. The atmosphere there was excellant. The dark sombre lighting combined with the fast moving music, made it a real 'dancy' place.
From what I could tell, drinks were reasonably priced, and the service eas swift. If you like dancing real close to people, this is the venue for you, top notch! And remember the great location, Upper Street, near Angel tube station ...
