If you're looking for a pizza restaurant that serves proper pizza and not the mass-produced stodgy stuff that Pizza Hut has to offer, then Pizza Express is probably the place for you.
The fact that there are three branches of this chain restaurant in Cambridge shows how popular a choice Pizza Express is: not only is the pizza delicious, but it's reasonably priced too.
Walking into the restaurant, it doesn't seem like a "fast-food" place: with large ... ...a dressing so good that Pizza Express have now started selling it in Sainsbury's!
Onto the pizza, and you'll find that there's a wide range of pizzas to cater for all tastes. Along with the more traditional Margherita and Four Cheese pizzas are a range of more exciting options, such as the Fiorentina, with spinach, free range egg, parmesan, garlic, olives, mozzarella and tomato, and the Veneziana, with onions, capers, olives, pine kernels, sultanas, ...

Advantages: You know what you're going to find, plus they do some rather nice food! Disadvantages: Standards can vary between the restaurants

It's perfectly possible to visit PizzaExpress restaurants in different parts of the country and receive vastly different interpretations of the same menu - I'm not quite sure how this happens - and I'm not saying that it is necessarily a bad thing, since I would rather have a bit of variety in a restaurant than McDonald's blandness - but it's when the quality of the food differs that I mind greatly.

Advantages: Tasty, Reliable, Reasonably Priced Disadvantages: It's A Chain! No Salt & Pepper!

I'd never actually heard of PizzaExpress before, and didn't even realise it was a chain, but after my first PizzaExpress experience I have to say I really was very impressed. The Menu was great. The staff charming. The toilets were stylish & impeccably clean. Best of all, the bill scarcely made it into double figures. Now, since then, I've eaten at PizzaExpress dozens of times, and at numerous different branches… in Brighton, Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge, and at least a dozen outlets in London. I've never really been disappointed, but then again, I can't say I've ever really been as impressed as I was that first time, either. I suppose the rot probably set...
