Advantages: Not Many Disadvantages: Expensive, Service can be poor, some branches are a mess
Ive been a customer of Pizza Hut for several years, when I was younger it was an extra special treat if mum took me and my sister to the hut for dinner. I went on my 13th birthday, I went when I went to see Take That in Manchester, believe it or not, its where me and my partner went to celebrate our 1 year anniversary (why am I with him again?) And more recently, I went last night. Well never again!
There are two branches in Huddersfield, ... ...£41, we had a large pizza with two extra toppings (meat feast with chilli and pineapple), a medium pizza (cheese feast with cajun chicken and spicy pork), 4 pepsi's (refills are free) and 4 starters, consisting of 2 x deep fried mushrooms 1 x cheesy nachos and 1 x BBQ chicken wings.
At this point I would like to point out that we arrived at 9.25pm, they stop people from coming in at 10.
There are two branches in Huddersfield, one in the town centre (the road name escapes me) and one next to the McAlpine stadium, where Huddersfield Town lose all their matches.
I visited the town centre branch with three friends, and between us the bill came to just over £41, we had a large pizza with two extra toppings (meat feast with chilli and pineapple), a medium pizza (cheese feast with cajun chicken and spicy pork), 4 pepsi's (refills are free) and 4 starters, consisting of 2 x deep fried mushrooms 1 x cheesy nachos and 1 x BBQ chicken wings.
At this point I would like to point out that we arrived at 9.25pm, they stop people from coming in at 10.
When we arrived we waited over a minute for one of the three waitresses who were stood doing nothing to come and seat us. There were 2 other tables occupied, one party was a middle aged couple and the other was a party of four young males. We were seated and our drink ordered werent taken until TEN minutes later when our food order was taken. Normally the drinks order is taken after a couple of minutes, before your food order.
The starters came relatively quickly, after about ten minutes. The 'cheesy' nachos has very little cheese indeed on them and were burnt, the mushrooms came in a variety of sizes, mostly ranging from abnormally tiny, to small. One of the mushroom orders has incxh thick, inedible chunks of cucumber next to it, the other had none at all.
Our main course (if you can call it that, it was Pizza Hut after all) was brought to our table before we had finished our main courses and was left on the table by the waitress.
My pizza was supposed to be cajun chicken and spicy pork. I counted no more than three small bits of chicken on it, and my friend was displeased with the condition of the chilli on her pizza. It was limp and the edges vere very dry and it was apparent from the state of them that they had been sat out all day, if not longer. There was a slice of mushroom on our serving knife thingy, and mushroom was NOT requested anywhere, but still we were not pleased to discover a rogue slice.
The waitress who served us looked extremely sullen and was clearly in a hurry to get home. Especially when the other two parties left and we were the last customers. She was stood against the counter watching us waiting for us to finish. When the manager came onto the restaurant floor she soon scurried off and started doing some work though.
We refrained from leaving a tip as we didnt feel that the service we recieved deserved one. I also refrained from making a complaint there and then, as one member of our party was getting into a strop over getting the last bus home (men!) Today I went to the Pizza Hut website to find a complaint form of some sort and am disappointed to discover that they dont offer an online complaints service, so its going to cost me a stamp to complain (thats not going to stop me though!)
Ive dined in quite a few pizza huts and the service has never been impeccable, its never been anything more than average, in previous visits to the same Huddersfield branch a waitress spilled coke all over our pizza (the soft drink kind, lol).
As for decor, this particular branch hasnt been decorated in a very long time indeed. I have noticed that some branches are being re done but this is happening extremely slowly.
This branch in particular has quite dingy decor, with trademark orangey red walls it seems very dark and dull inside, even the repeated play of a selection of recent(ish) songs arent enough to brighten up the atmosphere.
I dont think I will be visiting a Pizza Hut again for some time, last night was quite an eye opener as to how expensive it is for what you are actually getting. And just think of the calories!
I hope this was useful to you, although it will be more useful to those ciaoers that live in or around Huddersfield . Thanks for reading.
Advantages: erm....erm....... Disadvantages: The pizza
...who chose to go to Pizza Hut. I like to eat quite healthily but I went along anyway. I've never ventured into a Pizza Hut before today and my friends kindly told me I've led a sheltered life, maybe I have been sheltered by my fruit and veg but, after my experience today, I'm glad I have been.
This review is for Pizza Hut in Huddersfield. I don't wish to judge the others around the country but I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that they ... ...was on. We could have pizza on its own, or the pizza, pasta and salad buffet. He then took the drinks order. He was polite, though a little flustered at how busy it was. The same guy was seating people, taking orders and clearing and wiping tables.
About five minutes later he came back to ask for the drinks order again because he had forgotten what they were. Doh!
THE FOOD
The pizza on its own buffet is £3.99 or you can have pizza with pasta and ...

Advantages: Pizza! Cheap, right next to cinema, convenient Disadvantages: poor service, long waiting times
there are only 2 pizza huts in huddersfield, and i would suggest eating at the town centre one as it's much better than the cinema one.
last time we went to the one by the cinema we waited 25minutes for a table then left, think they completely forgot about us. the time before that it was packed and the service was awful. they obviously had lots of new people working, and were really unprepared to say it was a friday night.
value for money is ok, ...
