Pizza Hut, Norwich

As I was quite unwell on my first night staying in Norwich, my boyfriend and I decided to go and pick up some food from Pizza Hut, about a 15 minute walk away from the apartment we were staying in. On arrival, we didn’t really know what we wanted so we explained to a staff member that we wanted take out and he gave us a menu and a seat while we waited and decided. We didn’t get seen to again for another 15 minutes but the restaurant itself was pretty busy as it was around 8pm on a Friday night. Here, I should tell you that the take away menu is slightly different than the normal menu.

A member of staff finally came over to take our order but before he did, he explained that he didn’t really know what he was doing – not a good start to our experience here. As we told him what we wanted and he put it in the till, he realised that we would be better off getting a meal deal, which would be cheaper and we would get more food which was a nice thing for him to tell us. For £24.99 we got 2 large pizzas and 2 sides instead of the 2 medium pizzas and 1 side like we were going to get anyway. Great idea, I thought.

If only it was that easy. Our whole order had to be cancelled and re done which was something our server could not do himself. We had to wait 5 minutes for someone to come over and cancel our order. Once this was done, the order was put through again but he got it wrong. Again, another 5 minutes wait for someone to come and cancel it. Our order was finally put through right on the third try.

We only had to wait about 20 minutes for our food which I thought was really good considering how much trouble it was to just order and how busy the restaurant was. Our food wasn’t piping hot when we got it back to the apartment but it was a walk away so we had expected that to begin with. However, our pizza and wedges were really nice. I would probably go here again but only to eat in due to the hassle!!
