Location is not everything, but to sit with a pleasant lunch or moonlit dinner in this most elegant of piazze will be one of those Verona memories that stays with you. Impero makes a perfectly respectable pizza (with a full trattoria menu to boot), and any of the two dozen or so varieties will taste pretty heavenly if you're sharing an outdoor table with your Romeo or Juliet.
...brings a different flavour and architechtural style. The resulting Piazza is as bizarre as it is breathtakingly beautiful. There is a Pizzeria called Impero on this Piazza, which is one of the most popular spots with the locals I've seen - reasonably priced, great food and good service mean this place is always bustling - expect queues on summer evenings. But somehow the Piazza manages to retain its relaxing and serene aura. It's something else.
Just off the Piazza Dei Signori are the Scaliger tombs. The Scaligeri family ruled Verona during the 13th and 14th centuries. Scaligeri is a name you will see repeatedly around Verona because of the influence this family had over the city. The tombs are beautiful and worth a quick stop off. *************LOCATION************
I have to say that the Hotel Impero is in a super location, in a lovely leafy area. I would best descibe the location as right in the centre of the historical art city of Rome, overlooking the Roman Opera...

Advantages: Beautiful City, lots to see & do Disadvantages: None
...Walking around Verona in early June, there was a smell all over the city, not the smell of decaying rubbish as I experienced in my work trip to Naples, but the sweet smell of tree blossom, and Jasmine, even my hotel had Jasmine growing under the window!
I never really took to Shakespeare, at school I was more into war stories, and adventures, but Verona forever has the association with Romeo & Juliette, as you walk around the city, you will see plaques embedded in various walls with Shakespearean quotes.
*** Where is it? ***
Verona is in the Central Northern part of Italy
Built on a tight bend in the river Adige, it was easy to defend, as the water provided a natural barrier, also it was a natural crossing point. City walls were constructed to defend the rest of the city. The Romans had a major city here, complete...
