this is as near as you will get in paris to the place looking like oxford. this is a court hat was built for the then king and it is surrounded by a colonnade. it is truly ravishing. the park in the midlle is quiet and peaceful and there is a real sense of a family area there, but around the edges in the colonnades there are opera singers and other quality musicians trying ot earn a bit of extra cash. the marais are is very chic and full of good restaurants and seems to be a little world all to itself, far away from oparis, there are cute little side alleys and boutiques and it reminds one of the paris that there may have been 200 years ago.
