The two hotel are connected together by a bridge six floors above the street. This sounds weird but works quite well. The two hotels share a dining room which is on the sixth floor of the Plaza, and share a swimming pool which is on the roof (seventh floor) ... ...and I had (in the Plaza Regency) was of a decent size and was clean and tidy. Our room had a balcony overlooking Tower Road, on the other side of which is a cafe and then the sea, with a good view of St Julians Bay.. Not all rooms have a balcony however, and I heard one guest , who was in a single room, saying that he had no windows in his room.

The Plaza Regency hotel, Sliema is situated at 251 Tower Road, or as the local street signs put it Triq it-Torri. It is seperated from its sister hotel The Plaza, by a road Triq San Frangisk. The two hotel are connected together by a bridge six floors above the street. This sounds weird but works quite well. The two hotels share a dining room which is on the sixth floor of the Plaza, and share a swimming pool which is on the roof (seventh floor) of the Plaza Regency. Both hotels have several steps to climb to get from street level to Reception and in my opinion would be awkward for someone of limited mobility. Once inside, the reception area is spacious and has arm chairs and a TV. The staff here speak good English and are helpful. Both hotels have lifts which are in my opinion both slow and cramped. However the bedroom that my wife and I had (in the Plaza Regency) was of a decent size and was clean and tidy. Our room had a balcony overlooking Tower Road, on the other side of which is a cafe and then the sea, with a good view of St Julians Bay.. The food in the dining room in the dining room was varied, there being three main meat choices, different every day. There is also the choice of salad if you prefer. On the ground floor, the Plaza has a cafe, and you can either sit inside or outside. The Regency Plaza has a pizzeria in the basement, but you can also sit outside in good weather.
The main advantage to this hotel is that there is a bus stop just outside, with buses to Valletta every few minutes and in the other direction. to St Julians, Qawra, St Pauls Bay, and Cirkewwa from where you can catch the ferry to Gozo for a fraction of the cost that the tour companies charge.
There is a cafe/restaurant just over the road from the hotel, but watch the traffic as it is sometimes heavy. St Julians Bay with numerous restaurants and bars is about a ten minute walk away along the promenade, and there are several bars between there and the hotel.
