Advantages: Great beers, great beer festival
Disadvantages: can be quite crowded

...opposite the Manneken Pis, the Poechenellenkelder is one of Brussels' finest bars, and also home to the order of the pink elephant (which adorns the bottles of the lethal delirium tremens!) The owner is a real character and I had many chats with him, and the atmosphere is great. The beer is outstanding and its location is great, next to the Manneken Pis. ...The Order of the Pink Elephant - named after the character from the bottle of Delirium Tremens is a group of beer fanatics. In August - usually towards the end of the month, the Manneken Pis will "urinate" Delirium Tremens and there is free and lethal beer on offer. The whole event, along with an oompah band is organised by the owner of the Poechenellenkelder, and is a great event, although the beer takes an effect on you pretty quickly. The event isn't advertised, but if you ask in the Poechenellenkelder, they are more than happy to inform you. I would recommend this as a great knees up and a very pleasant afternoon.... Read review
