Just recently arrived in ski holiday, which in fact my very first ski holiday experience. I was a bit worried as i really dont know what would it be like wheather, i may come back with some broken bones or hated it . landed in Bucharest airport at 8pm, collecting luggage was hassle free. immediately seen our tour guide and we drove for 3 1/2 hours to the ski resort. During the journey our tour guide explained everything where to change our money, hiring skis etc.. We stayed at Sport Hotel which is near the ski resort , very clean and good value for package holiday i must say. the following day we done as what we told to get measured for boots . then off for skiing lesson !!!! Ist day, was not a good experience at all, my foot and shin was aching and was really about to give up as i was always behind the group. 2nd day, i started to get used of wearing the whole gear, believed or not as soon as i was able to moved i started to enjoyed it. my instructor was great they can speak at least 3-4 languages, so no problem in communication their. 3rd day i was already going up the slope to at least 8-10 metre very nice exp. and the rest of the ski holiday was fantastic. not only i enjoy the ski itself but also they do organise trips as well, which we visited Draculas Castle, its fantastic and historic place. if you saw cold mountain movie it was filmed in poina . Brasov is only 15min from the ski resort and they have everything what you need. the only thing that i find difficult is their money, which i find it very confusing!!! Eating out was fantastic , manage to taste bear meat which i wont recommend. i did not saw any bear dancing, but i come across locals with baby bear for photograph, not recommended. When you buy bread at the supermarket have a small money at hand, coz i felt they not please if you gave them large sums. Try not to changed all your pocket money , because you cannot exchange it back. You can only buy romanian currency at the airport or at the hotel which often they have a very good exchanged rates. as a first timer ,i would absolutely coming back for next year for a more advance ski lesson this time.

Nice review but a little short. I've been to Brasov and Poiana both in the summer and winter many times. We have our photo taken with a lion at Poiana.

Very interesting review. Take care that you also could change your money at the very many exchange office by streets. Much more, you could echange back your money if someone applies for you his identity....... Luca..
